Fast Progress and Big Titles Define Korean Championship 2023 in DaejeonEnglish
Inside the halls of KAIST and the National Science Museum, the steady hum of turning plastic filled the air across three packed days of competition. Timer displays flashed continuously as a field of 240 entrants gathered at the competition tables, inspecting scrambles and setting their hands on the timing mats. The Korean Championship 2023 brought together solvers across 16 different disciplines from December 15 to December 17, delivering a dense program of 27 rounds that tested both seasoned champions and rising contenders in 대전광역시 (Daejeon), Korea.
The rapid growth of newer talent set the tone for the entire weekend. Young solvers across the country have pushed their standards higher through dedicated training, turning each successive WCA competition into a display of sharp reflexes and efficient solutions. From standard Rubik's Cube speedcubing to specialized blindfolded categories, the roster showed how quickly the next generation of competitors has closed the gap on long-standing benchmarks.
The premier 3x3x3 Cube contest drew 210 competitors across four grueling rounds, culminating in a decisive victory for Seung Hyuk Nahm (남승혁).
