Julen Simón Iriarte put on a masterclass at the Konekta-La Perrera Open 2023, capturing three separate titles in a tournament that became a near-total showcase for Spanish cubers. Across eight events staged over two full days, Spanish competitors claimed 23 of the 24 podium positions available. The weekend in Bilbao, Bizkaia, Spain gathered 76 competitors to contest 19 rounds of high-pressure puzzle solving at La Perrera on March 18 and 19, 2023, delivering electric moments across short-format and big cubes alike.

The premier 3x3x3 Cube event drew the largest field of the entire speedcubing weekend, with 72 competitors battling through three rounds of Rubik's Cube action. In the final, Julen Simón Iriarte took the crown with a winning average of 9.08 seconds, backed by a best single of 7.76 seconds. The only podium spot of the entire weekend not won by a Spanish competitor went to Aaron Dufieux of France, who claimed second place with an average of 11.72 seconds, while Karim Heljam Casanova finished third with an 11.91 average to complete the 3x3 results.

Simón Iriarte was equally dominant in the faster rotations, winning the 2x2x2 Cube final in blistering fashion. He posted a winning average of 1.54 seconds and a best single of 1.43 seconds to finish atop a 42-person field spanning three rounds.
