Thailand Sweeps All 18 Podiums as Khon Kaen Cubing 2025 Delivers Masterful DisplaysEnglish

Inside the vibrant retail hub of Central Plaza Khon Kaen, the rhythmic clacking of turning plastic resonated across the competition floor. Solvers fine-tuned their tensioning, lubricated hardware, and adjusted their timers under the bright indoor lights. The bustling venue in Khon Kaen, Thailand welcomed 37 contenders over the weekend of December 13 to December 14, 2025. Across two full days of high-intensity action, participants navigated 14 rounds of competition across six distinct puzzle categories, creating an electric atmosphere for everyone gathered.

The story of Khon Kaen Cubing 2025 was an absolute clean sweep by domestic competitors, with representatives of Thailand locking down all 18 podium positions available across the entire schedule. Leading the surge was Parist Pariyakanok, who claimed three separate championship titles. In the 4x4x4 Cube, Parist captured gold with a 26.94 winning average and a best single of 25.33, clear of Natthaphat Mahtani in second at 29.01 and Enoch Tangprasittipol in third at 29.36. Parist also took top honours in 3x3x3 One-Handed with an average of 10.87 ahead of Enoch and Natthaphat, before winning Pyraminx with a 2.47 average.

The classic Rubik's Cube main event drew the largest field of the weekend, as 34 participants battled through three rounds of standard solving. Enoch Tangprasittipol stood tall at the peak of the 3x3 results, capturing victory with a blistering 6.59 final average and logging the competition best single time of 5.67 seconds. Enoch held off a determined charge from Phudist Chatameteekul, who secured the runner-up spot with a 7.00 average, while Parist Pariyakanok added another medal to his tally by taking third place with an average of 7.14.

Short-format events also brought exceptional pace to the tables throughout the WCA competition. In the 2x2x2 Cube final, Thamawit Tangtanawat seized victory by assembling a rapid winning average of 1.65, backed by a single of 1.43 seconds across three competitive rounds. Thanida Karunyapaso followed in second place with a 2.70 average, and Parist rounded out the top three at 2.96. Meanwhile, the Skewb event saw Natthaphat Mahtani take the gold medal with a 2.81 average, followed closely by Chanakan Kaosanit at 3.14 and Enoch Tangprasittipol at 3.98.

Away from the top steps of the podium, several competitors achieved meaningful personal milestones throughout this speedcubing weekend. Thanyaton Sumalee took on five separate events, posting an official first attempt in 4x4x4 Cube of 56.85 seconds, a first 3x3x3 One-Handed time of 24.84, a best finish of 14th in 4x4x4, and a 2x2x2 Cube personal best of 2.99 that was 52.3 percent faster than before. Pongwish Khansingha contested all six events, recording a first 4x4x4 attempt of 1:46.53, a first One-Handed solve of 1:26.07, a 21st-place finish in 4x4x4, and a 5.31 Skewb best that slashed 23 percent off their previous mark.

That drive extended across the roster as solvers set new personal boundaries. Dhanakrit Hatrongjit tackled six events, achieving a 17th-place result in 4x4x4, setting a 5.44 Skewb best, dropping their 3x3x3 Cube time by 12.5 percent to 9.69, and improving their 2x2x2 mark by 23.8 percent to 1.95. Similan Leksarist took on five disciplines, securing 22nd in 4x4x4 with a first attempt of 2:43.31 alongside a 28.42 best in 3x3x3. Nattan Udomkham entered two events, lowering their 3x3x3 best by 9.7 percent to 10.38 and improving their 2x2x2 time by 20.3 percent to 3.10. Nichakamol Hatrongjit dropped their 3x3x3 best by 15 percent to 36.22 across two events, Wichayaporn Supcharoenkun completed four disciplines while improving their 2x2x2 best by 8 percent to 9.73, and Vipat Lertutai shaved 7.9 percent off their 2x2x2 time to hit 7.81 across two events.

The technical breadth of modern speed cubing was fully evident across all six categories, demanding sharp visual lookahead on larger cubes, specialized one-handed ergonomics, and instant turning speed on irregular mechanisms. With three rounds of 3x3x3, 2x2x2, and Pyraminx alongside multi-round Skewb and One-Handed brackets, solvers were tested continuously on their consistency and composure under the inspection timer. Every stage of the event highlighted how well-prepared the roster was across varied mechanical disciplines.

When the final puzzles were resolved and the timers reset, Khon Kaen Cubing 2025 concluded as an overwhelming triumph for Thai cubers on home soil. From dominant triple-gold performances to personal milestones across every stage of the draw, the weekend set a high benchmark as another busy cubing season heads into the year ahead.
