Aaron Huynh Sweeps Four Events as Seasoned Hands Dominate in Kansas CityEnglish

The sanctuary halls of KC First Church of the Nazarene hummed with rapid clicking as timers flashed across solving stations on August 3, 2024. Competitors gathered in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, taking their places under the bright lights for a packed single-day schedule. Across 10 rounds of high-tempo action, 82 competitors stepped forward to test their preparation, setting a focused tone from the initial scrambles to the final podium presentations.

Veteran competitors quickly found their rhythm at KCKC 5 Fast and Furious 2024, converting years of practice into commanding performances. Experienced speedcubing talent set the pace early, demonstrating composure across multi-round brackets. The depth of the field showed immediately as seasoned hands navigated the pressure of the elimination rounds with calm precision, reclaiming top positions on the leaderboards.

Aaron Huynh delivered a masterclass in speed cubing throughout the day, capturing four separate titles. In the premier 3x3x3 Cube, Huynh dominated across three rounds, claiming first place with a 6.57 winning average and posting a blistering 3.46 single, the fastest mark of the tournament. The 3x3 results confirmed his authority, while Anton Angeletti secured second place with a 7.64 average and Alexander Gager took third on an 8.14 average.

Huynh continued his charge across the short-format and big-cube disciplines. In the 2x2x2 Cube, Huynh secured the win with a 2.53 average, holding off Zachary Johnson who recorded a 2.63 average, while Rogan Brownlee rounded out the podium at 3.18. Huynh also captured the Pyraminx crown with a 3.22 average ahead of Max McGill at 4.58 and Benjamin J. Dunn at 5.76. Moving to the 4x4x4 Cube, Huynh secured his fourth gold of the competition with a 31.70 average, besting Alexander Gager at 39.89 and Zachary Johnson at 40.33.

The lone title outside Huynh's grasp went to the Square-1 event, where Ryland O'Hanlon turned in a clinical performance. Navigating the shape-shifting puzzle through a field of 25 entrants, O'Hanlon secured victory with an 11.93 average and logged a sharp 8.74 single. Sam Troxel claimed second place with a 16.82 average, followed closely by Max McGill in third at 18.44.

Away from the top steps of the podium, several competitors logged remarkable breakthroughs and major personal milestones at KCKC 5 Fast and Furious 2024.
