Just Judge Jura 2025 Delivers Intense Weekend Battles in PolignyEnglish

Seventy-four competitors assembled at the Salle des Fêtes as Just Judge Jura 2025 got underway across January 18 and 19. The two-day schedule offered 20 rounds of action across 12 distinct events, drawing speedcubing specialists and multi-event competitors to Poligny, France. From the opening turns on Saturday morning to the final podiums on Sunday afternoon, the weekend unfolded as a comprehensive showcase of modern speed cubing talent in the Jura region.

Saturday set the tone early with intense big cube competition and preliminary rounds. Lucas Déglise immediately established command across several heavier puzzles, asserting control that would define much of the weekend program. He secured top honours in the 4x4x4 Cube with a winning average of 28.49 and a best single of 27.51, while also leading the 5x5x5 Cube field with a 52.70 average. The larger formats tested stamina and precision, setting high standards heading into the second half of the tournament.

The big cube momentum continued into the 6x6x6 Cube and 7x7x7 Cube events. Déglise added another gold in the 6x6x6 Cube, recording a winning average of 1:45.97, closely followed by Maxence Baudry at 1:46.34 and Valentin Hoffmann at 1:51.15. Baudry then struck back in the 7x7x7 Cube, capturing first place with a 2:24.29 average and a single of 2:19.43, keeping Déglise in second at 2:43.62. These heavyweight clashes provided dramatic highlights during the opening phase of the cubing competition.

Beyond the podium chases, several competitors delivered memorable breakthroughs across the schedule. Mathis Hamet tackled three events, achieving a major 3x3x3 Cube personal best of 14.48, which was 60.1 percent faster than his prior mark, alongside a 2x2x2 Cube personal best of 3.89 that shaved 44.7 percent off his previous time, and made a first attempt at Megaminx with 2:13.23. Maxence Bondy entered six events, securing a Clock personal best of 6.44 to finish 30.6 percent faster, improving his Pyraminx best by 34.4 percent to 3.70, and attempting Skewb for the first time at 14.99. Dan Klopfenstein took on 10 events, making his first attempt at 3x3x3 Blindfolded with a 2:59.86 single for fifth place, while recording personal bests of 6.32 in Skewb and 12.25 in 3x3x3 Cube.
