Big Cube Mastery and Classic Battles Define Diggiloo Diggiley 2023English

Helmer Ewert stamped his authority on the big cubes in Jönköping, Sweden, claiming top honours in the 6x6x6 Cube with a decisive winning average of 2:13.45 and a commanding best single solve of 2:08.58. The heavy mechanical demands of solving an 152-piece puzzle require sustained concentration, precise edge pairing, and deep endurance across every solve. Held at Kulturhuset on April 18, 2023, Jönköpingsligan 2: Diggiloo Diggiley 2023 gathered 10 competitors for an intense day of high-level speedcubing across five diverse events.

The 6x6x6 Cube final proved to be a showcase of methodical stamina and clean execution. Ewert distanced the small four-person field with each turn, leaving his closest challenger Pep Edén in second place with an average of 2:35.05. Rasmus Händén secured the third step on the podium with a solid 3:01.18 average. In such high-order events, any lockup or misaligned layer can derail an entire solve, making Ewert's smooth consistency across the board a standout performance of the entire cubing competition.

Beyond the grueling multi-layer test of the big cube, Ewert also carried his form over into the 12-sided Megaminx puzzle. Showing remarkable versatility, he secured another gold medal by producing a winning average of 1:01.38 and an impressive best single of 55.67. Rasmus Händén chased closely behind to finish second with a 1:07.04 mark, while Isac Richter completed the Swedish podium sweep in third position with an average of 1:46.69.

The classic Rubik's Cube brought out the entire roster of ten competitors for a thrilling round of 3x3 results at Jönköpingsligan 2: Diggiloo Diggiley 2023. Pep Edén captured the main event victory with a blistering 9.47 winning average, bolstered by a clean 8.88 single. Helmer Ewert pushed hard throughout the round, logging a rapid 7.87 single solve on his way to an overall average of 9.94 to claim silver. Rasmus Händén claimed the bronze position with a reliable average of 12.41.

In the 3x3x3 One-Handed event, competitors adjusted to the specialized finger gymnastics required to turn the puzzle smoothly with a single hand. Ewert collected his third victory of the day with an average of 16.70 and a best single of 15.72. Edén followed in the runner-up position with a 21.65 average, while Dalibor Mrška of Slovakia earned third place with a 25.35 average. The contest highlighted the breadth of technical speed cubing skill required across different formats.

The tournament floor also held plenty of milestone accomplishments beyond the podium steps. Otto Sjöholm entered four separate events and secured a best finish of 4th place in the 6x6x6 Cube, recording his first ever official attempt in the event at 5:11.17, while also notching a sharp Skewb personal best single of 6.93 that improved on his previous 9.20 mark by 24.7 percent. Meanwhile, Andreas Walther entered two events, logging his first ever attempt at 3x3x3 One-Handed with a time of 58.40 and setting a personal best single of 25.18 on the 3x3x3 Cube to improve his previous record by 5.5 percent.

The Skewb event delivered a tightly packed battle between the top three finishers, separated by mere fractions of a second. Dalibor Mrška took the top spot for Slovakia with a winning average of 5.01 and a best single of 4.15, marking an international triumph at the Swedish event. Rasmus Händén kept the pressure high to place second with a 5.15 average, while Helmer Ewert followed right behind with 5.37 to earn third place and round out a busy afternoon.

Jönköpingsligan 2: Diggiloo Diggiley 2023 offered a complete demonstration of what modern speedcubing demands, balancing puzzle complexity and raw speed across the community.
