Rasmus Stub Detlefsen Dominates Ikast Cubing Kaos 2024 Across Multiple FormatsEnglish
A single slip can instantly dismantle a campaign in mean-of-3 formats, where competitors face three solves without the luxury of dropping their slowest result. In Ikast, Denmark, the single-day pressure tested everyone at the Ikast-Brande bibliotekssal during Ikast Cubing Kaos 2024 on April 27, 2024. The 3x3x3 Blindfolded event proved just how unforgiving those parameters can be, as Daniel Anker Hermansen secured the top spot with a best single of 26.60 seconds despite recording a DNF average. Solomon Fraga took second place with a 2:08.32, while Rasmus Stub Detlefsen locked up third place with a 2:19.34 single.
The 3x3x3 Blindfolded discipline demanded absolute precision over its single round, but it was far from the only test of composure during the competition. Across nine rounds and six events, a total of 53 competitors pushed through intense schedules in this prominent WCA competition. With formats shifting between best-of-three attempts and traditional averages of five, competitors had to constantly adapt their mental approach. The narrow margins across the tables highlighted how crucial every single turn was in the heart of the Danish speed cubing calendar.
Rasmus Stub Detlefsen delivered an extraordinary overall performance throughout the year 2024 gathering, claiming four individual victories. In the classic 3x3x3 Cube event, Detlefsen topped a field of 52 competitors, capturing the title with a winning average of 7.80 seconds alongside a best single of 6.41 seconds. Tue Jepsen earned the runner-up spot with an average of 9.76 seconds, while Rostyslav Litvinov secured third place with an average of 10.33 seconds. The high-calibre 3x3 results reinforced Detlefsen's position at the summit of Danish speedcubing.
Detlefsen continued his winning ways across the smaller and larger puzzles. In the 2x2x2 Cube event, Detlefsen recorded an average of 2.05 seconds and a single of 1.68 seconds to take first place ahead of Tue Jepsen, who averaged 2.72 seconds, and Walter Højlund Smalbro, who finished third with a 3.05 average. In the 4x4x4 Cube, Detlefsen posted an average of 31.49 seconds and a single of 26.94 seconds to win over Rostyslav Litvinov at 37.51 seconds and Sofie Strand at 40.22 seconds. His fourth win came in Pyraminx, averaging 3.27 seconds with a 2.44 single.

Jeppe Juhler Jensen entered five events, recording his first ever attempt at Clock with a 32.21, his first ever attempt at 4x4x4 Cube with a 1:39.32, and dropping his Pyraminx personal best to 3.91, which was 59.9 percent faster than his prior mark of 9.76.
