Staged at the Dhirubai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, the single-day gathering rewarded solvers who could sustain their form through five-solve rounds rather than relying on an isolated burst of speed. The i.Cube Open 2023 proved that championships are secured when precision remains unwavering under the pressure of the tournament clock.

The 3x3x3 Cube contest provided the clearest illustration of how steadiness over an entire average determines the podium. In the final round of the classic Rubik's Cube, Yug Patel captured the title by posting a winning average of 8.90 seconds, including a best single of 7.23 seconds. Harsh Chelani pushed hard throughout the round, finishing right behind with an average of 8.93 seconds to take second place, while Dadhania Het secured third place on the podium with a mark of 10.35 seconds. Across three hard-fought rounds, the 3x3 results showed that Patel could reliably deliver sub-nine second solutions when every solve counted.

Patel was not finished asserting his control over the Gandhinagar tables. In the 2x2x2 Cube, where forty competitors began the chase, Patel again leaned on steady turning to take the top step with a winning average of 2.60 seconds, complemented by a best single of 2.13. Dadhania Het claimed the silver position with an average of 2.88 seconds, while Harsh Chelani rounded out the top three at 3.02 seconds. In a format where small stumbles often ruin an average, Patel remained composed across both rounds of the event.

The 3x3x3 One-Handed event saw Patel complete a commanding triple victory at the cubing competition. Facing twenty-seven entrants over two rounds, Patel posted an unrivaled winning average of 12.61 seconds, backed by a best single of 11.24 seconds. Harsh Chelani claimed second place with an average of 16.79 seconds, and Parth Sachin Surelia earned third place with an average of 18.63 seconds. In all three of his wins, Patel demonstrated the value of controlled, repeatable ergonomics over raw, erratic turns.

In the 5x5x5 Cube, Ishaan Hadkar delivered a dominant showing among sixteen competitors in a direct final. Hadkar secured first place with a winning average of 1:05.35 and registered the fastest single of the category at 1:00.25. Parth Sachin Surelia took second place with an average of 1:21.73, while Yug Patel added another podium finish to his day by taking third place with a time of 1:31.56. Meanwhile, Pyraminx delivered fast-paced action across two rounds, where Imaad Sohel Ajani clinched victory with an average of 2.07 seconds and a best single of 1.37 seconds, finishing ahead of Dhairya Chiragbhai Dave at 3.14 seconds and Shivansh Chunduru at 3.46 seconds.

Away from the top of the podium, several participants produced massive personal milestones that told the deeper story of this WCA competition. Devansh Kukadia entered three events and delivered remarkable leaps, taking on his first ever attempt at 3x3x3 One-Handed with a time of 57.36, while dropping his 2x2x2 Cube personal best by 67.4% to 4.01 and slicing his 3x3x3 Cube personal best by 57.7% to 18.10. Tanish Keyur Brahme took on five events, achieving a best finish of 9th in 3x3x3 Cube, recording his first ever attempt at 5x5x5 Cube in 4:09.57 and first attempt at 3x3x3 One-Handed in 38.08, while improving his 2x2x2 Cube best by 24.9% to 4.08. Vivaan Viral Joshi made his first ever attempt at 3x3x3 One-Handed with a 41.85 and lowered his 3x3x3 Cube mark by 39.7% to 21.90. Aayush Ved tackled five events to secure a best finish of 12th in 5x5x5 Cube with a debut time of 3:18.86, alongside a 29.7% improvement in 3x3x3 One-Handed to 47.35 and an 18.2% drop in 2x2x2 Cube to 5.31.

That drive was equally visible across the rest of the roster during a full day of speed cubing. Mitansh Krishnani recorded a first ever attempt at Pyraminx with a mark of 14.85 while trimming his 2x2x2 Cube best by 36.2% to 4.71. Dhyaan Shah slashed his Pyraminx personal best by 57% down to 9.89, alongside a 26.4% improvement in 3x3x3 Cube to 17.61 and a 20.8% reduction in 3x3x3 One-Handed to 39.72. Anay Padia earned personal bests in all three events entered, cutting his 2x2x2 Cube mark by 52.2% to 9.35, his 3x3x3 Cube time by 20.9% to 36.90, and his Pyraminx single by 9% to 16.29. Fagun M. Soni logged a first ever attempt at 3x3x3 One-Handed in 33.72 while dropping his 3x3x3 Cube standard by 17.3% to 13.06.

With all fifteen podium places claimed by solvers representing India, the tournament concluded as a celebration of technical mastery in speedcubing. Across every category, the i.Cube Open 2023 highlighted how patience, measured pacing, and steady execution across full averages define the sport at the highest competitive level.

इसके अलावा नए प्रतिस्पर्धियों के लिए भी यह WCA competition काफी यादगार रहा। Hitarth Kadivar ने अपने करियर की पहली प्रतियोगिता में 4 इवेंट्स में भाग लिया और 3x3x3 Cube में 24.58, 2x2x2 Cube में 8.86 और Pyraminx में 12.29 का पहला आधिकारिक समय दर्ज किया। Tanish Lal ने अपने पहले टूर्नामेंट में 3x3x3 Cube में 17.99, Pyraminx में 10.24 और 2x2x2 Cube में 4.35 का स्कोर बनाया। Patel Shubham Amrutlal ने पहली बार हिस्सा लेते हुए 3x3x3 Cube में 13.22, 2x2x2 Cube में 5.58 और Pyraminx में 9.23 का समय दिया। Shreeom Chauhan ने भी अपनी पहली प्रतियोगिता में 3x3x3 Cube में 23.79, 2x2x2 Cube में 11.26 और Pyraminx में 19.02 का आधिकारिक प्रयास दर्ज कराया।
