Kolasiński Dominates Five Events as New Faces Shine at Hvidovre NxN 2025English

Fifty-seven competitors gathered at Lille Friheden for Hvidovre NxN 2025, bringing an energetic mix of established talent and fresh ambition to Hvidovre, Denmark. Running across February 8 and February 9, 2025, the tournament delivered sixteen rounds of high-intensity speedcubing across six traditional cubic categories. While international stars delivered world-class winning marks at the top of the standings, the presence of emerging solvers gave the entire cubing competition an unmistakable sense of momentum from the opening turns.

Tymon Kolasiński of Poland turned in a commanding performance throughout Hvidovre NxN 2025, claiming victory in five of the six contested disciplines. In the premier 3x3x3 Cube event, which featured fifty-four participants across three rounds, Kolasiński secured the title with an exceptional 5.78 winning average and the round best single of 4.69 seconds. Denmark native Rasmus Stub Detlefsen took second place with a 7.30 average, edging compatriot Martin Vædele Egdal, who secured third place on the podium with a 7.33 average.

The 3x3 results formed only a portion of the Polish champion's weekend haul. Kolasiński swept the larger puzzles, demonstrating remarkable consistency on the 4x4x4 Cube with a 19.17 average and a 17.84 single to finish ahead of Egdal and Matěj Grohmann of the Czech Republic. Moving up to the 5x5x5 Cube, Kolasiński clocked an average of 40.67, with Grohmann taking second at 49.48 and Egdal capturing third at 49.80. His dominance on the larger layers confirmed his status as one of the most formidable all-around solvers in modern Rubik's Cube competition.

That authority carried seamlessly into the very biggest cubes on the schedule. On the 6x6x6 Cube, Kolasiński locked up another first-place finish with a 1:14.60 average and a 1:05.42 single, while Egdal and Grohmann followed in second and third. In the 7x7x7 Cube, Kolasiński recorded a 1:52.05 winning average, well clear of Egdal's 2:26.13 and Danish competitor Magnus Søndergaard Byrne's 2:26.40. Egdal, however, answered back in the sprint discipline, claiming the 2x2x2 Cube title with a blistering 1.46 average over Detlefsen's 1.85 and Adam Marcellus Kelly's 2.06.

Beyond the podium battles, the heart of Hvidovre NxN 2025 lived within the massive personal leaps and maiden attempts across the scorecards. Roald Demosa Enevoldsen authored two enormous improvements, dropping his 3x3x3 Cube personal best by 43.9 percent to 37.54 and trimming his 2x2x2 Cube mark by 36.4 percent to 8.47. Carl Alexander Øst matched that forward drive, taking his 2x2x2 Cube time down 25.7 percent to 8.66 and cutting his 3x3x3 Cube mark by 17.7 percent to 30.08. Daniel Berndt Lemvigh showed major progress on the big cubes, reducing his 4x4x4 Cube personal best by 22.2 percent down to 1:44.03 while achieving a 33rd-place finish in 2x2x2 Cube.

Tackling unfamiliar puzzles on the big stage defined the experience for several other dedicated participants. Jonas Bukrinski Andersen contested six events across the weekend, earning a 34th-place rank in 2x2x2 Cube with a 22.9 percent personal best of 3.93 while completing his first ever attempts at 6x6x6 Cube in 6:26.89 and 7x7x7 Cube in 14:13.00. Thea Lancaster entered five events, recording a 5:45.68 in her first 6x6x6 Cube attempt alongside new personal bests of 2:01.38 in 5x5x5 Cube and 1:07.46 in 4x4x4 Cube. Nicklas Graae Rasmussen took on five disciplines, notching a 29th-place finish in 2x2x2 Cube, a 2:46.40 5x5x5 personal best, and a 7:13.99 in his first 7x7x7 Cube attempt. Elliot Laumann Christiansen recorded a 28th-place result with a 6.73 in his first 2x2x2 Cube attempt while improving his 3x3x3 Cube time by 10.9 percent to 22.63, and Sebastian Rasmussen dropped his 2x2x2 Cube personal best by 18.3 percent to 7.90 while shaving 14 percent off his 3x3x3 Cube mark with a 24.49.

The frantic action on the 2x2x2 Cube also created a busy weekend for the scorekeepers, with multiple solvers registering official baseline marks during the opening stages. Competitors including Piotr Olszewski, Marcus Gottorp Wittendorff, Peter Hugosson-Miller, Lukas Paskauskas, Sigfús Flensted-Jensen, Joy Liou Liu, Callum James Goodyear-Jørgensen, James Ballantine, Nilias Samuel Olsen, and Adam Marcellus Kelly all populated the record sheets with new single and average benchmarks under the official regulations.

By the time the final timers were packed away, Denmark had accumulated ten podium placements, Poland five, and the Czech Republic three. The blend of seasoned speed cubing excellence and emerging solvers stepping onto the floor for the first time delivered an unforgettable two days in Hvidovre. As the 2025 calendar unfolds, Hvidovre NxN 2025 will be remembered both as a showcase of Kolasiński's absolute mastery and as the launching pad for dozens of rising competitors.

Whether chasing tenths of a second on the smallest puzzles or grinding through the complex layers of the 7x7x7 Cube, every participant added to the rich tapestry of this WCA competition. The community in Denmark proved once again that every level of capability has a vital home at the solving table, setting an inspiring standard for the rest of the competitive year.
