Rapid Progress Takes Center Stage at Hungarian All-Rounder 3: A Kind of Magic 2024English

The competition hall at Bornemissza Péter Gimnázium buzzed with focused energy as timers flickered and plastic faces turned in rapid succession. Tables arranged across the Budapest, Hungary venue filled with competitors working through warm-up solves and inspecting puzzles before officials signaled the start of play. Across a packed single-day schedule on May 12, 2024, the gathering brought together 48 competitors for 6 rounds of action across 4 distinct disciplines, providing a showcase of modern Rubik's Cube solving in the capital city.

Youth and development defined the atmosphere at Hungarian All-Rounder 3: A Kind of Magic 2024, where emerging talents demonstrated just how swiftly personal boundaries are expanding across regional speedcubing. As new techniques circulate faster than ever, the learning curve has compressed dramatically, allowing solvers to achieve elite execution in a fraction of the time required by earlier generations. This cubing competition illustrated that steep upward trajectory, with athletes showing remarkable timing leaps in both two-handed and specialized events.

The classic 3x3 results formed the centerpiece of the tournament, featuring a competitive field of 46 competitors across two stages of play. Gábor Slezák secured the overall title in the event, posting a decisive winning average of 7.88 seconds in the final round along with a best single of 6.83. Ádám Szabó took second place with an average of 8.34, while Kristóf Veres rounded out the podium in third with an 8.76 mark. Slezák led a sweep for Hungarian competitors on the main stage.

One-handed solving brought its own test of manual dexterity, drawing 32 competitors into a tense two-round contest. Ábris Galler took top honors in the 3x3x3 One-Handed event, securing victory with a winning average of 11.81 seconds alongside an impressive single solve of 8.90. Kristóf Veres finished in second place with an average of 12.80, and Gábor Slezák completed the podium in third at 14.87, highlighting the balance of speed cubing versatility among the frontrunners.

The blindfolded categories offered an exacting test of memory and spatial recall, requiring athletes to memorize the state of the puzzle before donning blindfolds to execute solutions entirely unseen. Maxim Pürstinger delivered an exceptional double victory across both events on the roster. In the single-cube discipline, Pürstinger took the title with a winning average of 26.13 seconds, supported by a 21.93 single. Mihály Horváth placed second with a 29.23 average, and Martin Fröhlich finished third with 30.68.

Pürstinger extended that success to the marathon challenge of 3x3x3 Multi-Blind, where 11 competitors attempted complex multi-cube memorization sequences under strict time constraints. Pürstinger claimed first place by solving 22 of 25 cubes within the allocated time of 1:00:00. Mihály Horváth secured the runner-up position by successfully solving 15 of 17 cubes in 1:00:00, while Martin Fröhlich achieved third place by completing 18 of 29 cubes in 58:31, rounding out a strong Austrian presence on the medal table.

Away from the podium battles, Hungarian All-Rounder 3: A Kind of Magic 2024 featured remarkable breakthroughs throughout the wider roster. Márk Barassevich produced one of the most substantial leaps of the day, cutting his 3x3x3 One-Handed personal best to 28.44 seconds, which was 33.3 percent faster than his prior standard of 42.65, alongside a 3x3x3 Cube best of 12.57. Lilla Vásárhelyi improved her 3x3x3 Cube personal best to 22.08, shaving 24.9 percent off her former 29.41 mark. Sándor Karsay took on all 4 events, achieving a 6th place finish in 3x3x3 Multi-Blind, a 3x3x3 Cube best of 15.68, and a one-handed best of 41.93, 20.1 percent faster than his previous 52.45.

A Hungarian All-Rounder 3: A Kind of Magic 2024 elnevezésű esemény 2024. május 12-én gyűjtötte össze a speedcubing közösségét Budapest, Hungary területén. A 48 fős mezőny négy izgalmas versenyszámban mérte össze felkészültségét.

A versenyprogram leginkább a ritkább, komoly szaktudást igénylő kategóriákra helyezte a hangsúlyt.

Mihály Horváth 29.23-as átlaggal állhatott fel a dobogó második fokára, míg Martin Fröhlich 30.68-as átlaggal szerezte meg a harmadik helyet. A vakon forgatók mezőnye lenyűgöző stabilitást mutatott ebben az összetett kategóriában a feszült hangulatú forduló során.

Az egykezes kirakás specialistái is kitettek magukért a harminckét fős mezőnyben, ahol a precíz ujjtechnika döntött a helyezésekről. A 3x3x3 One-Handed döntőjét Ábris Galler nyerte magabiztos, 11.81 másodperces átlaggal, ráadásul övé lett a forduló legjobb egyéni kirakása is 8.90 másodperccel. A második helyre Kristóf Veres ért oda 12.80-as átlaggal, a dobogó harmadik fokát pedig Gábor Slezák kaparintotta meg 14.87-es eredménnyel. A két fordulóból álló szám remek küzdelmet hozott az élmezőnyben.

A Hungarian All-Rounder 3: A Kind of Magic 2024 emellett fantasztikus fejlődéseket és bátor debütálásokat is hozott, amelyek a ranglisták mögött zajló igazi munkát mutatják. Patrik Andó négy számban indult, és a 3x3x3-as kockán 9.58 másodpercre javította egyéni legjobbját, ami 18.5 százalékos gyorsulást jelent a korábbi 11.75-höz képest, miközben a több kockás vakon kirakásban hatodik lett.

A dobogós helyezések tekintetében a házigazda Magyarország nyolc érmet szerzett, míg Ausztria versenyzői négy dobogós helyezést gyűjtöttek be a fővárosban. A Hungarian All-Rounder 3: A Kind of Magic 2024 egyetlen sűrű napba sűrítve mutatta meg a kocka forgatásának legváltozatosabb oldalait, a vakon megoldott rejtvényektől a villámgyors egykezes megoldásokig.

A budapesti tornaterem a kora esti órákra kiürült, de a versenyzők emlékezetes időkkel és értékes tapasztalatokkal zárták a májusi vasárnapot. A speedcubing rajongói számára a Hungarian All-Rounder 3: A Kind of Magic 2024 ismét bebizonyította, hogy a technikai számok specialistái és a mezőny fejlődő versenyzői egyaránt képesek felejthetetlen pillanatokat teremteni a sportág hazai színterén.
