Veterans Deliver Precision and Power at Hungarian All-Rounder 2English

The sports hall at Bornemissza Péter Gimnázium filled with the rhythmic click of turning plastic on April 14, 2024, as competitors assembled for Hungarian All-Rounder 2: Second Chance 2024 in Budapest, Hungary. With seven rounds scheduled across five events, the one-day gathering drew 49 competitors keen to test their execution against the clock. The atmosphere inside the venue was one of quiet concentration, punctuated by the distinctive thud of hands landing on timer pads as solvers took their marks across multiple puzzle disciplines.

Veteran competitors quickly found their rhythm across the tables, setting an exacting standard in the premier events. In the classic Rubik's Cube, experienced campaigner Alexey Tsvetkov delivered a standout performance, capturing first place with a 7.50 winning average in the final. His decisive 5.03 single stood as the fastest solve of the 3x3 results, keeping him ahead of Szabolcs Szántai, who claimed second place with an 8.57 average, and Gergő Zalán Molnár, who took third with an 8.62 average.

Alexey Tsvetkov extended his fine form into the 2x2x2 Cube, where he topped a field of 44 competitors across two rounds. Tsvetkov logged a winning average of 1.79 alongside an event-best single of 1.19 to take the gold. András Orbán earned second place on the podium with a 1.99 average, having also posted a sharp 0.99 single during the contest, while Gergő Zalán Molnár secured third place with a 2.14 average in the final round.

In the big cube events, Hungarian veteran Gergely Novotni put on a commanding display of form across both the 4x4x4 Cube and 5x5x5 Cube. Novotni secured victory in the 4x4x4 Cube final with an average of 31.43 and a best single of 27.24, outpacing Alexey Tsvetkov, who finished in second place at 32.09, and Mihály Horváth, who claimed third at 35.88. The single-round format tested focus from the start, and Novotni met the challenge squarely.

Gergely Novotni doubled his gold tally in the 5x5x5 Cube, putting together a winning average of 52.58 and a best single of 51.76 against a field of 22 competitors. Bence Barát took second place with a 58.07 average, while Szabolcs Szántai earned third on the podium with a time of 1:09.40. The heavy puzzles demanded stamina and clean hardware control, reinforcing the dominance of seasoned solvers throughout the afternoon sessions.

The tournament also offered plenty of personal breakthroughs away from the podium lights. Máté Nemes delivered the single largest leap of the day, entering one event and dropping his 3x3x3 Cube personal best to 20.58, which was 70.1 percent faster than his previous mark of 1:08.81. Ladislav Krivánek contested two events and cut his 2x2x2 Cube personal best by 50.5 percent down to 7.10 from 14.33, while also taking his 3x3x3 Cube best down to 29.42 from 40.50, an improvement of 27.4 percent. Krzysztof Wołowik took on three events, achieving a best finish of 31st in the 4x4x4 Cube, lowering his 2x2x2 Cube best to 6.99 from 11.13 by 37.2 percent, and improving his 3x3x3 Cube mark to 36.94 from 38.65 by 4.4 percent.

Fresh milestones continued across multiple disciplines throughout the afternoon. Sándor Kenyeres took on four events, making his first ever attempt at the 5x5x5 Cube with a mark of 2:06.53 to earn a 17th-place finish, alongside setting a 4x4x4 Cube personal best of 1:05.10. Bálint Galambos also tackled four events and recorded his first ever attempt at the 5x5x5 Cube in 2:24.07 for a 20th-place result, while improving his 3x3x3 Cube best by 8 percent to 14.92 from 16.21. Miklós Réthy competed across four events, finishing 14th in the 5x5x5 Cube and trimming his 2x2x2 Cube mark by 34.1 percent to 2.18 from 3.31. Matej Kladivík entered three events, placed 31st in 4x4x4 Cube, and dropped his 3x3x3 Cube best by 23 percent down to 17.44 from 22.66. Soma Török contested four events, placed 10th in 3x3x3 Blindfolded, and slashed his blindfolded best to 3:10.32 from 4:01.92, an advance of 21.3 percent.

Memory and execution collided in the 3x3x3 Blindfolded event, where Austria's Maxim Pürstinger captured the title with a single time of 31.01. Mihály Horváth claimed second place with a mark of 33.02, followed by Bence Barát in third place at 57.41. The blindfolded discipline requires solvers to memorize the puzzle state before donning a blindfold to solve without visual feedback, making Pürstinger's clean execution a highlight of the single-round contest.

As Hungarian All-Rounder 2: Second Chance 2024 drew to a close, host nation Hungary accounted for 11 podium finishes, alongside three for Russia and one for Austria. The speed cubing action across seven rounds capped an intensive day of speedcubing in the capital. Solvers packed up their timers and puzzles with fresh personal benchmarks in hand, concluding another memorable WCA competition in Budapest.

Hajszálnyi különbségek és kettős győzelmek a budapesti speedcubing versenyenMagyar

Mindössze öt századmásodperc döntött a dobogó második fokáról a királykategóriában, ami tökéletesen megmutatta a budapesti verseny rendkívül kiélezett küzdelmeit. A 3x3x3 Cube döntőjében Szabolcs Szántai 8.57 másodperces átlaggal szerezte meg az ezüstérmet, éppen csak megelőzve a 8.62-es átlagot elérő Gergő Zalán Molnár versenyzőt. A leggyorsabbnak a kategóriában Alexey Tsvetkov bizonyult 7.50-es győztes átlaggal és egy 5.03-as legjobb egyes kirakással. A magyar főváros adott otthont a színvonalas megmérettetésnek, ahol a Bornemissza Péter Gimnázium termeiben a Rubik-kocka legkiválóbb hazai és nemzetközi forgatói mérték össze tudásukat.

A 2024. április 14-én megrendezett Hungarian All-Rounder 2: Second Chance 2024 alkalmával 49 versenyző állt asztalhoz, hogy 5 versenyszám 7 fordulójában küzdjön meg a helyezésekért. Budapest, Hungary városa remek hátteret biztosított a gyorsasági kirakás szerelmeseinek, ahol a klasszikus számok mellett a nagyobb kockák és a vakon kirakás specialistái is összemérhették felkészültségüket. A World Cube Association égisze alatt zajló egynapos eseményen összesen tizenegy dobogós helyezést tartottak otthon a magyar versenyzők, míg Oroszország három, Ausztria pedig egy érmet gyűjtött be.

A nagyobb kockák mezőnyében Gergely Novotni nyújtotta a legkiemelkedőbb teljesítményt, aki két versenyszámban is diadalmaskodott a nap folyamán. A 4x4x4 Cube 33 indulót számláló egyetlen fordulójában Gergely Novotni 31.43-as átlaggal és 27.24-es legjobb egyes idővel győzött, megelőzve a 32.09-et elérő Alexey Tsvetkovot és a 35.88-cal záró Mihály Horváthot. Az 5x5x5 Cube mezőnyében szintén Gergely Novotni állhatott a dobogó legfelső fokára 52.58-as átlaggal és 51.76-os egyéni kirakással, míg Bence Barát 58.07-tel a második, Szabolcs Szántai pedig 1:09.40-es idővel a harmadik helyen végzett a 22 fős mezőnyben.

A vakon kirakás specialistái számára a 3x3x3 Blindfolded versenyszám tartogatott izgalmakat, amelyben a feladvány előzetes memorizálása és a szemtakaróban történő hibátlan végrehajtás döntött.

Zsolt Vincze négy számban is indult, és mindhárom nagyobb kockán javított: 2x2x2 Cube-ban 6.38-ra (10.8 százalékos javulás), 4x4x4 Cube-ban 1:15.11-re (6.8 százalékos fejlődés), míg 5x5x5 Cube-ban 2:19.79-re javította legjobbját, ahol a 19. helyen végzett. András Józsa a 3x3x3 Cube kategóriában 9.18-as új egyéni csúcsot ért el, ami 9.6 százalékos előrelépés, és a 19. helyet hozta számára. Péter Ákos Barta öt kategóriában mérette meg magát, 4x4x4 Cube-ban 36.84-es egyéni csúccsal a 10. helyen zárt, 5x5x5 Cube-ban pedig 1:18.32-re javította idejét.

Szintén emlékezetes pillanatokat hozott a Hungarian All-Rounder 2: Second Chance 2024 azoknak a versenyzőknek, akik legelső WCA versenyükön vettek részt. István Szoukup három számot vállalt, a 4x4x4 Cube mezőnyében a 31. helyen zárt, emellett a 3x3x3 Cube-ban 33.96-os, a 2x2x2 Cube-ban pedig 9.15-ös idővel tette le névjegyét első kísérletei során. Tamás Szélig két számban mutatkozott be, 4x4x4 Cube-ban 1:09.48-as idővel a 27. helyen ért célba, 2x2x2 Cube-ban pedig 6.46-os eredményt jegyzett. Dávid Hege 3x3x3 Cube-ban 20.93-as, 2x2x2 Cube-ban 6.97-es idővel mutatkozott be, míg Dominik Bagi egyetlen kategóriában indulva 33.01 másodperces időt ért el a klasszikus kocka első próbálkozásánál.

A 2024-es év tavaszi versenynapja kiválóan megmutatta a hazai közösség technikai fejlődését és a tapasztaltabb versenyzők kiegyensúlyozott formáját. A Hungarian All-Rounder 2: Second Chance 2024 izgalmas küzdelmei, a tizedmásodperceken múló helyezések és a debütáló versenyzők bátor helytállása méltó emléket állítottak ennek a budapesti fordulónak, megalapozva a felkészülést a következő szezon versenyeire.
