Molnár and Novotni Dominate Single-Handed and Big Cube Events in BudapestEnglish

38 competitors took their places at the tables in Budapest, Hungary on December 6, 2025, to contest one of the most mechanically demanding tests in modern speedcubing: the 3x3x3 One-Handed event. Solving the classic puzzle with a single hand demands exceptional fingertip dexterity, table grip control, and efficient move counts that eliminate clumsy regrips. Under the bright lights at Hungarian All-Rounder 12 2025, held at Bornemisza Péter Gimnázium, the single-handed discipline put pure efficiency on display throughout a tense single round.

Gergő Zalán Molnár emerged at the top of the one-handed standings, capturing victory with a disciplined winning average of 13.81 seconds. Along the way, Molnár delivered a sharp best single of 10.15 seconds to set the pace for the entire discipline. Szabolcs Szántai secured second place with an average of 14.33 seconds, while Benedek Zimányi claimed third on the podium with a 14.89 average. The single-handed contest set a high technical benchmark for the rest of the action across five contested events at the venue.

Molnár carried that dominant form into the traditional two-handed 3x3x3 Cube event, which brought together a field of 45 competitors across two fast-paced rounds. In the final round, Molnár captured his second title of Hungarian All-Rounder 12 2025 with an average of 7.26 seconds, bolstered by the competition's best single of 5.82 seconds. The 3x3 results remained razor-thin at the very top, as Gábor Slezák finished just six hundredths behind with an average of 7.32 seconds to take second place, while Dávid Szabó took third on the podium with a 7.57 average.

In the larger puzzles, Gergely Novotni delivered an unmatched showcase of hardware mastery and layered piece management. Novotni swept both big cube titles, starting with a dominant display in the 4x4x4 Cube against 42 competitors. Posting a winning average of 28.47 seconds and a best single of 26.99 seconds, Novotni led a Hungarian sweep of the top spots, finishing comfortably ahead of Gábor Slezák in second place at 32.01 seconds and Ádám Szabó in third at 32.02 seconds.

Novotni maintained his command in the 5x5x5 Cube, which drew 31 competitors to the tables. Maneuvering the complex outer and inner layers, Novotni secured the win with an average of 50.57 seconds alongside the day's best single of 48.18 seconds. Gábor Slezák earned another runner-up finish with an average of 1:00.97, closely followed by Bence Barát in third at 1:01.08. The smooth execution in big cubes highlighted the depth of technical skill present at this official WCA competition.

Away from the top of the podiums, the scorecards told remarkable stories of breakthrough progress across the venue. Gergely Lazáry tackled four events, taking on his first ever attempt at 4x4x4 Cube with a time of 1:17.47 and his first ever attempt at 3x3x3 One-Handed at 22.37, while chopping his 3x3x3 Cube personal best by 25 percent down to 8.80 seconds on his way to 16th place. Ádám Bálint entered four events, posting his first ever attempt at 4x4x4 Cube in 1:09.31, trimming 23.6 percent off his 2x2x2 Cube personal best to hit 2.91 seconds, improving his 3x3x3 Cube best by 12.1 percent to 10.36 seconds, and securing an 18th-place finish in 2x2x2 Cube.

That spirit of personal progress echoed throughout the rest of the roster at Hungarian All-Rounder 12 2025. Henrietta Paulovics entered three events, cutting her 2x2x2 Cube mark by 22.2 percent to 6.85 seconds, reducing her 3x3x3 Cube personal best by 9.2 percent to 25.46 seconds, and finishing 39th in 4x4x4 Cube. Gyula Pap took on all five events, lowering his 3x3x3 One-Handed personal best by 16 percent to 27.58 seconds and placing 31st in 5x5x5 Cube. Gergő Jánosi competed in four events, shaving 15.3 percent off his 2x2x2 Cube personal best to reach 2.61 seconds and finishing 32nd in 4x4x4 Cube. Noémi Matestyák tackled three events, making a first ever attempt at 4x4x4 Cube in 1:57.50, lowering her 3x3x3 Cube best by 16.9 percent to 30.29 seconds, and cutting her 2x2x2 Cube mark by 13.3 percent to 6.50 seconds. Ladislav Krivánek contested three events, logging a first ever attempt at 4x4x4 Cube in 1:43.79 and finishing 36th in 3x3x3 One-Handed.

The 2x2x2 Cube event concluded the day's speed cubing action with explosive, short-duration solves across two rounds. András Orbán claimed the championship title with an average of 2.17 seconds, while Szabolcs Szántai took second place averaging 2.34 seconds. Alexander Pastirčák earned third place with an average of 2.54 seconds, representing Slovakia's lone podium finish among the 14 earned by Hungarian competitors.

Across seven rounds of intense play, Hungarian All-Rounder 12 2025 gave 46 competitors an ideal proving ground for both single-handed precision and classic Rubik's Cube speed. With double victories from Molnár and Novotni alongside a flurry of personal bests throughout the pack, the cubing competition in Budapest closed out 2025 by demonstrating the ever-rising standard of modern solving.

Gyors és sokoldalú megoldások a budapesti Hungarian All-Rounder 12 2025 viadalonMagyar

Pontosan 46 versenyző állt rajthoz a Bornemisza Péter Gimnázium falai között, ahol öt versenyszámban összesen hét fordulót rendeztek meg. A budapesti helyszínen megrendezett Hungarian All-Rounder 12 2025 a kirakási stílusok széles skáláját vonultatta fel. Miközben a klasszikus legkevesebb lépéses kirakás a csendes, papíron és ceruzával végzett precíz logikai elemzésről szól, az itteni speedcubing fordulók a puszta ujji gyorsaságról és a másodpercek törtrészeiért vívott küzdelemről szóltak. Budapest, Hungary fővárosa 2025. december 6-án így a legkülönfélébb kihívásokkal teli kockás küzdelmeknek adott otthont.

A hagyományos 3x3x3 Rubik-kocka mezőnyében 45 induló mérte össze a tudását két fordulón keresztül. A végső győzelmet Gergő Zalán Molnár szerezte meg 7.26 másodperces átlaggal, ráadásul a mezőny legjobb egyéni idejét is ő jegyezte 5.82 másodperccel. A dobogó második fokára Gábor Slezák állhatott fel rendkívül szoros küzdelemben elért 7.32 másodperces átlagával, míg a harmadik helyet Dávid Szabó biztosította be 7.57-es eredménnyel ezen a színvonalas WCA versenyen.

Gergő Zalán Molnár nem érte be egyetlen aranyéremmel a hétvégén, hiszen a félkezes kategóriában, vagyis a 3x3x3 One-Handed számban is a leggyorsabbnak bizonyult. A 38 fős mezőnyben elért 13.81 másodperces győztes átlaga mellé egy 10.15-ös legjobb egyéni tekerést is felmutatott. Ebben a számban Szabolcs Szántai lett a második 14.33-as átlaggal, a harmadik helyezést pedig Benedek Zimányi érdemelte ki 14.89 másodperces átlagos teljesítménnyel.

A nagyobb kockák világában Gergely Novotni dominálta a mezőnyt, aki két versenyszámban is az élen zárt.

A főbb helyezéseken túl a mezőny mélyén számos figyelemreméltó egyéni mérföldkő született a megmérettetésen. Gábor Kardos ezen a tornán debütált a hivatalos versenyek világában, mindjárt három számban is elindulva: a 2x2x2 kockán 2.74 másodperces, a klasszikus 3x3x3 kategóriában 9.68-as, a félkezes kirakásban pedig 19.66-os első hivatalos időt ért el, amellyel 24. lett. Barna Tóth szintén legelső versenyén szerepelt, ahol a 3x3x3 kirakásban 34.81 másodperces hivatalos eredménnyel mutatkozott be a mezőnyben.
