Speedcubing Talents Gather at Eco Mall for Hooshinoo Open 2024English

Inside the bustling corridors of the Eco Mall, puzzle mats clicked rhythmically as competitors took their seats under the bright arena lights. Solve timers flashed in sequence while judges stood watchful over rows of scrambling stations, setting a brisk pace from the first scramble to the last solve. The atmosphere inside the commercial hub was charged with focus as solvers prepared for three demanding days of solving.

Across September 19 to September 21, travellers arrived from across the province and beyond national borders to reach Karaj (کرج), Iran. A dedicated field of 112 participants converged on the city, including international representation from Kuwait, demonstrating the enduring pull of an extensive WCA competition schedule. With 17 official events spanning 25 distinct rounds, the gathering tested endurance across classic twisting puzzles and specialised formats alike.

The premier 3x3x3 Cube contest drew 96 solvers through three stages of elimination, delivering some of the sharpest 3x3 results seen in the region during 2024. Amirali Javadzadeh captured first place with a winning average of 8.24 seconds, anchored by a best single solve of 7.92. Shaden Barzegar secured second place with an average of 8.57, while Erfan Dehghani rounded out the podium in third at 8.81 seconds, demonstrating the immense precision required at the top level of Rubik's Cube solving.
