The tournament featured six distinct events and fourteen rounds of intense play, drawing dedicated solvers from across the country to test their speed on the official stage.

The venue buzzed with focused energy throughout the Guilin Open 2024, where the main stage saw high-caliber 3x3 results across three demanding rounds featuring 111 competitors. Yiheng Wang topped the field with his 4.50 average, followed closely by Xuanyi Geng in second place with an average of 5.11 seconds. Zhen Chen completed the 3x3x3 Cube podium with a 5.57 average, confirming the incredible depth of talent present at this WCA competition.

In the 2x2x2 Cube event, Yiheng Wang captured his second gold medal of the Guilin Open 2024 by posting a winning average of 1.19 seconds, alongside a sharp 0.86 single. Chenhao Ma earned second place with an average of 1.67 seconds, while Kaixi Guo took third with 2.02 seconds. The compact, rapid-fire turns of the two-layered puzzle kept the venue timers clicking constantly as 58 competitors navigated three rounds of competition.

The 3x3x3 One-Handed event brought sixty-one competitors to the tables, where Zhen Chen secured victory with a 10.17 average and a 9.23 single. Tao Wen finished runner-up with an average of 10.75 seconds, and Zixiong Xu took third at 10.90 seconds. In the 4x4x4 Cube, Ziyu Wu commanded the field of 60 entrants across two rounds, locking in first place with a 26.76 average and a 23.97 single, ahead of Yibo Xu at 27.96 and Jihao Huang at 30.02.

Beyond the podium battles, several participants made substantial progress across the competition schedule. Tiancong Lu entered four events at the tournament, logging a first ever attempt at 3x3x3 One-Handed with 19.71 seconds, a first ever attempt at Pyraminx with 5.60 seconds, and taking their 3x3x3 Cube personal best down to 8.45 seconds from 18.50, an improvement of 54.3 percent. Haoyu Li took on five events, registering a first attempt at 3x3x3 One-Handed at 45.92, a first Pyraminx attempt at 8.47, and cutting their 3x3x3 Cube mark by 45.5 percent to 26.14 seconds. Linda Huang stepped up in three events, posting a first attempt of 50.95 in the 4x4x4 Cube, a first attempt of 3.88 in the 2x2x2 Cube, and lowering their 3x3x3 Cube mark by 10.9 percent to 9.94 seconds.

Other competitors also unlocked major milestones across the six disciplines. Sibo Zhao took on five events at the Guilin Open 2024, recording a first 3x3x3 One-Handed solve of 35.34 seconds, a first 2x2x2 Cube mark of 4.51 seconds, and a 6.3 percent Rubik's Cube improvement down to 20.05 seconds. Qifeng Wang entered all six events, securing an 8th-place finish in Pyraminx with a personal best of 2.19 seconds, 49.1 percent faster than their previous best of 4.30, while also improving their 3x3x3 One-Handed time by 12.3 percent to 16.63 and their 2x2x2 Cube time by 12.2 percent to 2.58. Xinyue Yao contested three events, dropping their 4x4x4 Cube best to 34.43 seconds, 45.5 percent faster than before, while cutting their 3x3x3 One-Handed time by 41.3 percent to 20.25 and their 3x3x3 Cube best by 6.9 percent to 10.50.

The side events generated remarkable excitement inside the school hall. Shengze Tang won the Pyraminx title with a 1.97 average and a 1.54 single across two rounds, edging out Kaixi Guo at 2.03 and Yiheng Wang at 2.21. In Skewb, Kaixi Guo reversed the order to take top honors with a 2.04 average and a 1.82 single, followed by Shengze Tang in second at 2.43 and Chufan Cao in third at 5.02.

Across all disciplines, Chinese competitors claimed all 18 podium positions, demonstrating high technical proficiency and poise under pressure. The Guilin Bacui Huanqiu School served as a vibrant host for the speed cubing community during the 2024 calendar, providing a memorable setting where established champions and emerging talents shared the floor. 在镁光灯聚焦的领奖台背后，许多平日默默付出的选手在赛场上实现了个人突破。Ganggang Zhou (周刚刚)在金字塔项目中将个人最好成绩从10.90秒大幅提升至5.60秒，提速幅度高达48.6%，其二阶成绩也从8.29秒提升至6.23秒。Guozheng Li (李国政)报名了全部6个项目，并在金字塔项目中取得第4名，其四阶个人最好成绩由1:10.62提升至41.18秒，提速41.7%，斜方成绩也由5.39秒提升至3.54秒。

赛场上的新尝试同样催生了突破。Ziyu Wang (王紫钰)在四阶项目迎来了职业生涯首次正式尝试并收获47.09秒，其二阶魔方也以3.39秒刷新了原本4.43秒的个人最佳。Jiaxian Ye (叶家贤)迎来了三阶单手的初次尝试并记录下19.85秒，同时将其四阶最好成绩提升至41.83秒、三阶成绩提升至10.76秒。Qinglang Liu (刘晴朗)首次尝试四阶项目即交出31.26秒，并在单手项目中取得第11名，其三阶最好成绩提升至6.88秒。Jingyao Shi (施景耀)同样在单手项目首次亮相收获20.21秒，并将三阶最佳成绩推进至8.37秒。
