Across May 31 and June 1, the venue welcomed dozens of competitors to a vibrant gathering where precision decided every ranking. The tension was especially sharp in events decided by a mean of three solves, where there is no dropped worst result to cushion a mistake and any single miscalculation proves costly.

The 3x3x3 Blindfolded competition offered a clear demonstration of that unforgiving dynamic. With memory work carrying the entire solve before a single turn is made, an incomplete puzzle ends the attempt instantly. Jordi Lleixà López conquered the field of 18 competitors across two rounds, securing the victory with a standout best single solve of 28.50 seconds despite a DNF average. Pavlo Bondar took second place on the podium with a 53.62 solve, while Artur Miralles Hernàndez took third with 1:02.54.

Granollers Open 2025 brought 67 competitors to Granollers, Spain for a full program of 11 events and 20 rounds of action. The gathering offered a full showcase of classic Rubik's Cube solving and specialized formats. Pavlo Bondar delivered an exceptional run across multiple disciplines, claiming the victory in the 3x3x3 Cube with a winning average of 7.91 seconds and a best single of 7.12 after three rounds of 3x3 results, leading a field of 63 participants in the premier division.

Bondar extended that winning form into several other brackets throughout the weekend. In 3x3x3 One-Handed, Bondar won with a 13.96 average ahead of Adrián Bernete Berlanga at 15.99 and Erik Subirats at 16.43. Bondar also captured the 5x5x5 Cube title with an average of 1:05.84, edging out Daniel Cofreces Jaureguizar at 1:06.65 and Zhedong Wang at 1:10.21. In Megaminx, Bondar claimed top honors with an average of 47.24 and a single of 41.80.

Beyond the premier divisions, the weekend was defined by remarkable milestones from competitors pushing their limits across fresh formats. Santiago Motta Ordoñez took on seven events, recording a 2x2x2 Cube personal best of 2.33 seconds that was 51.4 percent faster than his previous mark, achieving a 10th-place finish alongside his first attempts at 4x4x4 Cube in 50.44 and 5x5x5 Cube in 1:51.26. Dídac Maymó Calatayud cut his 2x2x2 Cube personal best by 45.2 percent down to 6.23, improved his 3x3x3 Cube best by 19.3 percent to 48.15, and took his first attempt at Clock in 46.89. Candela Huang Garcia Rueda tackled four events, registering a Pyraminx personal best of 9.24 seconds that was 43.5 percent faster than before, while posting a first Clock solve of 33.37.

Personal progress continued across the scorecards as solvers stepped up to unfamiliar disciplines. Pau Oliva Fora registered a Skewb personal best of 10.27 seconds, an improvement of 42.3 percent, set a 3x3x3 Cube personal best of 19.51, and logged a first ever attempt at 3x3x3 One-Handed with 1:30.10. Jana Guiral Requena entered eight events, achieving 20th place in Megaminx with a first attempt of 2:15.64 while also posting debut attempts of 14.54 in Skewb and 22.12 in Clock. Arnau Gili Cobos took on four disciplines, logging initial attempts of 9.53 in Pyraminx, 11.67 in 2x2x2 Cube, and 31.88 in Skewb. Iñaki Díez Tendero entered five events, recording his first attempts in Square-1 at 2:30.49, 4x4x4 Cube at 2:00.43, and Skewb at 13.60.

Albert Mandicó Sampol produced a dominant run across three shorter formats. Mandicó Sampol captured first place in the 2x2x2 Cube with an average of 2.76 seconds, took the Pyraminx title with a 2.31 average ahead of Aleix Foguet at 3.10 and Àlex Domingo Risco at 3.56, and sealed the Skewb win with an average of 4.52. Àlex Domingo Risco took second in Skewb with a 5.13 average, while Bondar finished third in 5.58.

Daniel Cofreces Jaureguizar captured the 4x4x4 Cube title with an average of 33.22 seconds, finishing ahead of Bondar at 34.10 and Zhedong Wang at 36.58. In Square-1, Oscar Sánchez Najarro won the event with an 11.02 average in a narrow battle over Artur Miralles Hernàndez at 11.12 and Bondar at 17.41. In Clock, Artur Udatsnoi claimed first place with a 6.68 average, followed by Bondar at 8.94 and Wang at 8.96.

The 2025 speedcubing season in the region benefited from deep international representation, with podium positions earned by competitors from Spain, Ukraine, China, Estonia, and Russia. Every round of this WCA competition tested concentration under the pressure of the stopwatch. As the final tables were cleared at Granollers Open 2025, the community concluded a memorable weekend of speed cubing and looked forward to the challenges of the next season.

Sobre las mesas de competición instaladas en Rocaumbert, en Granollers, Spain, la cita reunió a 67 participantes dispuestos a medirse a lo largo de 11 disciplinas oficiales y 20 rondas disputadas entre el 31 de mayo y el 1 de junio de 2025.

El ucraniano Pavlo Bondar (Павло Бондар) se erigió como la figura dominante en la categoría a una mano al registrar una media ganadora de 13.96 segundos, respaldada por un mejor intento individual de 13.38 segundos tras dos intensas rondas eliminatorias. La plata en esta modalidad correspondió a Adrián Bernete Berlanga con un promedio de 15.99 segundos, mientras que Erik Subirats completó el podio al detener el cronómetro en 16.43 segundos. La técnica pulida y la fluidez en las transiciones de algoritmos marcaron la pauta en una de las pruebas más exigentes del speedcubing internacional.

El dominio de Pavlo Bondar (Павло Бондар) no se limitó a una sola categoría, ya que extendió su reinado a la prueba reina del clásico cubo de Rubik de 3x3x3. En una final que congregó a 63 participantes a lo largo de tres rondas, Bondar se adjudicó el primer puesto con un promedio de 7.91 segundos y una marca individual destacada de 7.12 segundos. Su versatilidad mecánica también le permitió imponerse en las modalidades de 5x5x5 Cube, con un tiempo medio de 1:05.84, y en Megaminx, firmando una media victoriosa de 47.24 segundos.

Por su parte, el competidor español Albert Mandicó Sampol protagonizó un fin de semana sobresaliente al conquistar un triplete de victorias en pruebas cortas. Mandicó Sampol se coronó en el 2x2x2 Cube con una media de 2.76 segundos, dominó la clasificación de Pyraminx con un registro de 2.31 segundos y sumó un tercer triunfo en Skewb gracias a un promedio de 4.52 segundos. En esta última prueba superó a Àlex Domingo Risco, quien finalizó segundo con 5.13 segundos, y al propio Bondar, tercero con 5.58 segundos.

En las modalidades de lógica especializada, Daniel Cofreces Jaureguizar se llevó el primer lugar en 4x4x4 Cube con una media de 33.22 segundos, superando a Pavlo Bondar (Павло Бонdar) y a Zhedong Wang (王哲栋). En Clock, Artur Udatsnoi se alzó con la victoria al promediar 6.68 segundos, mientras que Oscar Sánchez Najarro venció en Square-1 con una marca de 11.02 segundos. En la prueba de memoria a ciegas de 3x3x3 Blindfolded, Jordi Lleixà López aseguró el título gracias a una mejor resolución individual de 28.50 segundos.

Más allá de las posiciones cimeras, el Granollers Open 2025 dejó una destacada estela de superación personal para numerosos participantes que desafiaron sus propios límites. Adrián Jurado Llovera rebajó su registro personal en Pyraminx hasta 19.34 segundos, mejorando un 49.2 por ciento, además de marcar 11.13 en 2x2x2 Cube y 35.33 en 3x3x3 Cube. Axel Saúl Meza Saldarriaga completó 9 eventos durante el fin de semana, logrando un mejor intento de 2.35 segundos en 2x2x2 Cube para una mejora del 41.4 por ciento, junto a marcas de 17.69 en 3x3x3 Cube y 2:20.26 en 5x5x5 Cube.

En este mismo grupo de esfuerzo, Arnau Sucarrats Martinez disputó 8 disciplinas, alcanzó la cuarta posición en 2x2x2 Cube con un tiempo de 1.59 segundos que supuso una mejora del 29.3 por ciento y completó su primer intento oficial en 3x3x3 Blindfolded con 4:14.86. Yanghao Xia afrontó su primera incursión en 3x3x3 One-Handed parando el reloj en 31.15 segundos y redujo un 28.7 por ciento su marca en 3x3x3 Cube hasta 11.83. Mar Oliva completó 5 pruebas, firmó su primera marca en Megaminx con 5:09.37 y recortó su registro de Skewb a 17.28 segundos. Asimismo, Hugo Sanchez Fernandez y Dídac Pedragosa Venegas vivieron su primera WCA competition, registrando el primero marcas iniciales de 51.14 en 3x3x3 Cube y 14.48 en 2x2x2 Cube, mientras que el segundo debutó con 12.20 en 2x2x2 Cube y 46.89 en 3x3x3 Cube.

El medallero general reflejó un notable equilibrio competitivo con 18 posiciones de podio para España, 10 para Ucrania, 3 para China y una para Estonia y Rusia. La intensa actividad desarrollada en el recinto catalán consolidó el nivel técnico de los participantes en cada una de las 20 rondas disputadas. El Granollers Open 2025 cerró sus puertas confirmando la riqueza del cubing competition y dejando el escenario listo para los nuevos desafíos que traerá el calendario deportivo.
