Gladsaxe Midsommer 2025 Delivers Sharp Solving and Big Cube DramaEnglish

Twenty competitors assembled at Gladsaxe Idrætscenter on June 21, 2025, ready to push their limits across seven distinct disciplines. In the broader speedcubing landscape, dexterity-heavy setups and single-handed execution demand extraordinary fingertip control and tactical efficiency. While traditional Rubik's Cube solving often dominates the spotlight, this focused WCA competition in Gladsaxe, Denmark, demonstrated how pure mechanical technique translates across side events, ranging from mechanical dials to heavyweight multi-layered cubes.

The single-day schedule at Gladsaxe Midsommer 2025 packed eight rounds of intense action into a tight program. Denmark's Martin Vædele Egdal mounted an exceptional campaign across the big cubes, claiming three separate victories. He secured top honours in the 5x5x5 Cube with a winning average of 47.88 seconds, alongside a best single of 46.15. He was joined on that podium by Magnus Patrick Kanstrup in second place at 54.71 and Daniel Vædele Egdal in third place with a 57.19 average.

Martin Vædele Egdal continued his commanding form on the larger puzzles, capturing the 6x6x6 Cube title with a mean of 1:33.20. Kanstrup secured the silver position with an average of 1:38.06, while Daniel Vædele Egdal took third in 2:03.39. In the 7x7x7 Cube, Martin completed his big cube sweep by recording an average of 2:19.22 and a fastest single solve of 2:14.59. Kanstrup claimed another runner-up finish with 2:47.56, while Adam Marcellus Kelly earned bronze with an average of 2:54.27.

The Megaminx contest delivered one of the closest battles of Gladsaxe Midsommer 2025, where Daniel Vædele Egdal edged ahead to claim first place with an average of 46.58 seconds. Martin Vædele Egdal finished a fraction behind in second place with an average of 46.77, while Marcus Gottorp Wittendorff completed the podium in third with 48.52. Speed cubing fans tracking the overall 3x3 results across various formats also saw remarkable precision in the Clock and Square-1 events.

Beyond the top podium steps, the competition floor witnessed notable individual breakthroughs from competitors refining their craft. Boglárka Zoé Kupi produced one of the most substantial leaps of the day, cutting her personal best in Clock down to 30.24 seconds, an improvement of 47.2 percent over her previous mark of 57.28, which led to a 17th-place finish. Zoltán Kupi also delivered a standout showing, recording a personal best Clock average of 16.19 seconds, 36.5 percent faster than his previous best of 25.49, to finish 15th, while also completing his first ever attempt at the 5x5x5 Cube in 5:56.31.

Progress continued across the field as Nicklas Graae Rasmussen tackled six events, achieving a Megaminx personal best of 3:43.58 that improved his previous best by 19.4 percent, along with a 6x6x6 Cube personal best of 5:27.16 and a 5x5x5 Cube mark of 2:27.38.

Tyve deltagere mødtes til Gladsaxe Midsommer 2025 for at dyste i syv forskellige discipliner over otte runder.
