Katie Hull delivered the defining performance of the weekend with a decisive 8.50 winning average in the 3x3x3 Cube, anchoring a busy single-day tournament on the Florida calendar. Held on April 29, 2023, at the Florida State University Student Services Building in Tallahassee, Florida, USA, FSUbers 4.0 2023 arrived at an important juncture in the spring speedcubing season. A field of 90 competitors gathered to test their form across 11 scheduled rounds, using the late-April meet to measure developmental progress before the summer schedule begins.

The 3x3 results formed the centerpiece of the meet, featuring a full three rounds of action for the classic Rubik's Cube. Hull set the pace throughout the competition, posting a best single of 8.10 on her way to the 8.50 mark in the final round. Daniel Porter took second place on the podium with a 9.11 average, while Sean Hartman captured third place by recording an even 10.00 average. The sweep of the top positions reflected a day where established frontrunners maintained steady composure through the elimination phases.

Beyond the main event, Daniel Porter emerged as a double winner during FSUbers 4.0 2023, showcasing exceptional versatility across different formats. Porter claimed the top spot in the 2x2x2 Cube with a 3.48 winning average and a 2.95 single, edging Hull's 3.55 average and Rowan Stough's 3.57 mark in a tight final. Porter then doubled his gold tally in the Pyraminx, taking first place with a 2.70 average and a 2.07 single. Hartman took second in that event with a 3.91 average, followed by Hull in third at 4.77.

The competition program spanned five distinct events, demonstrating the depth required across varying puzzle sizes and mechanisms. In the Clock event, Jacob Ambrose secured victory with an impressive 6.38 average and a 5.10 single, narrowly staying ahead of Hartman's 6.41 average, while Hull collected another podium spot in third with an 8.01. The large-cube contest belonged entirely to Sean Hartman, who captured the 7x7x7 Cube title with a winning average of 2:23.31 and a single of 2:15.89, outperforming runner-up Carter Bitz at 2:37.56 and Hull in third at 2:52.90.

Away from the top of the standings, the Tallahassee gathering provided fertile ground for substantial personal breakthroughs across multiple disciplines. Sage Crouse tackled four events, cutting their 2x2x2 Cube mark by 60.3 percent down to 8.55, improving by 18.2 percent in 3x3x3 Cube to 34.58, and registering a first official attempt in Clock at 32.67. Chensley Dosio delivered a standout 63 percent personal improvement in Clock with a time of 30.86. Gray M. Shively posted a personal best of 2.52 in 2x2x2 Cube, an improvement of 28.6 percent, while taking on Clock with a first attempt of 21.61 and 7x7x7 Cube in 9:36.36.

New event ventures continued to define the lower half of the scorecards throughout the afternoon. Nathan Lamchamkee dropped his Pyraminx best by 40 percent to 6.36, cut his 3x3x3 Cube time by 21 percent to 16.06, and completed a first 7x7x7 Cube attempt in 9:28.25. Meanwhile, Paul Rozelle and Julian Becka each took part in their first official WCA competition, with Rozelle posting a 12.10 in 2x2x2 Cube and Becka recording a 20.10 in 3x3x3 Cube.

The 2x2x2 Cube preliminary stages also produced a dense run of registered entries. Lucas Y. Chen advanced his career totals with a 3.18 single and 4.04 average, while Luca Constantino logged a 3.44 single. Haochen Lei achieved marks of 4.93 and 6.16, Sarvesh Krishnaa Govardhanan Kiruthica posted a 6.10 single and 7.87 average, and Jacob Littleton produced a 3.72 single alongside a 5.71 average, reinforcing how competitive even the secondary events proved across every round.
