Paul Mahvi Outlasts the Field on Big Cubes as Max Siauw Sweeps Four Titles in FolsomEnglish

Inside the halls of the Folsom Community Center on December 17, 2023, the steady rhythm of speedcubing echoed across rows of competition tables. Scores of competitors and spectators gathered under the bright indoor lighting, where stopwatches reset rapidly between rounds and puzzle pieces clicked relentlessly in every direction. With six official events scheduled across eleven rounds of play, the single-day gathering provided an intense test of concentration, mechanical dexterity, and stamina in Folsom, California, USA.

Big-cube competition demands an uncommon level of mental endurance and finger stamina, and the 7x7x7 Cube showcased that test of fortitude at Folsom Winter 2023. Facing twenty-five competitors in the single-round showdown, solvers spent minutes maneuvering hundreds of moving pieces without losing track of complex reduction steps. Paul Mahvi captured the title with a winning average of 2:32.73, backed by the best single mark of the event at 2:30.89. Max Siauw pushed him to the wire with a 2:33.00 average for second place, while Clement Cherblanc secured third with a 3:07.59 average.

The 4x4x4 Cube contest delivered another demanding showcase of multi-layered puzzle control across two fast-paced rounds.
