FMC Pune 2025 Closes Season With Standout Specialist Showcases in MaharashtraEnglish

Seventeen competitors gathered at Crimson Dale as the speedcubing calendar reached its concluding phase in December 2025. Across four rounds of specialist competition, FMC Pune 2025 delivered an intense single-day showcase in Pune, Maharashtra, India. As the late-season fixture unfolded on December 6, 2025, entrants tackled three distinct disciplines that tested tactical calculation, mechanical speed, and pure memory. The gathering provided an important platform for competitors aiming to post significant marks before the close of the annual campaign.

The 3x3x3 Fewest Moves discipline served as the central pillar of the schedule, drawing 15 competitors into a patient battle of analysis. Aditya Y. Pathak emerged on top of the standings, locking in a winning average of 33.00 moves and securing the best single attempt of the event at 30 moves. Pranav Dandgaval mounted a formidable challenge, taking second place with a 33.67 average, while Shubham Maharana claimed third step on the podium with 34.33. The calculated pace of the event brought out some of the sharpest Rubik's Cube solutions seen in the region all year.

Fast-paced mechanical dexterity took over during Clock, which featured 14 competitors battling across two full rounds. Jay Nikhil Gadgil established control over the bracket, producing a rapid 3.73 single alongside a decisive winning average of 4.45 seconds to capture first place. Dhruva Nikhil Jagtap followed in the runner-up position with a 5.52 average, while Reyansh Ritesh Kumar rounded out the podium places with a 6.41 mark. The sharp turns and swift pin alignments kept the running order tight throughout the elimination stage.

The mental challenge deepened in 3x3x3 Blindfolded, where ten competitors faced the classic challenge of memorisation and execution without sight. Dhruv Ambastha delivered a commanding performance, recording a winning single of 17.39 seconds and an average of 20.23 seconds to seal victory. Yug Hiren Shah secured second place with a single solve of 1:22.39, while Shubham Maharana picked up another podium finish of the meet by taking third place with a 1:26.66 single. The discipline produced a series of determined attempts across the entire field.

Beyond the podium battles, FMC Pune 2025 served as a springboard for substantial individual breakthroughs. Vedant Bapat (वेदांत बापट) took on two events during the meet and delivered a breakthrough day, highlighted by a first ever attempt at 3x3x3 Blindfolded that yielded an eighth-place result of 5:33.52. In Clock, Vedant Bapat (वेदांत बापट) logged a new personal best of 8.23 seconds, improving on a previous mark of 15.56 seconds by 47.1 percent. Meanwhile, Hriyansh Srivastava tackled two events, posting a personal best of 13.38 seconds in Clock to finish 38.2 percent faster than a prior mark of 21.65 seconds, alongside a 15th-place finish in Fewest Moves.

That pattern of steady progress continued across the scorecards. Tanav Aditya Godbole entered two disciplines and achieved a new 3x3x3 Fewest Moves personal best of 53 moves, which was 33.8 percent faster than a former best of 80 moves, earning 13th place overall. Reyansh Bhushan also excelled across two events, claiming 12th place in 3x3x3 Fewest Moves with a personal best of 51 moves that improved on an earlier 66-move mark by 22.7 percent. Reyansh Bhushan added a Clock personal best of 8.98 seconds, dropping 11.8 percent from a previous 10.18 second result.

The results across the floor demonstrated the broad appeal of specialist formats within an official WCA competition. Participants who regularly track standard 3x3 results found themselves tested by alternate puzzle formats, whether working through Clock mechanics or deciphering complex blockbuilding paths in Fewest Moves. The variety of events on offer ensured that every round at FMC Pune 2025 brought unique competitive demands, demanding total focus from every competitor seated at the venue.

With all nine podium places awarded to competitors from India, the one-day speed cubing tournament provided a fitting end to the regional schedule. The Crimson Dale venue witnessed intense tactical preparation, swift puzzle handling, and major personal improvements. As FMC Pune 2025 concluded, the competitors packed away their puzzles with fresh milestones in hand, looking ahead to the start of a brand new competitive season in the coming year.
