Di Tella Arranca 2026 Delivers Thrilling Speedcubing Action in Buenos AiresEnglish

A total of 47 competitors assembled at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella for two days of intense speedcubing across 10 official disciplines. Running from January 31 to February 1, 2026, the tournament brought together some of the country's sharpest talents to contest 15 rounds of high-level solving. The energy across the venue peaked during the final solves, where podium places hung on razor-thin margins down to the last turns of the session in Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The 6x6x6 Cube final proved to be one of the tensest battles of the weekend, coming down to the very last attempts on the stage. Manuel Gutman secured the gold medal with a winning average of 1:44.73, holding off a strong challenge from Gaspar Lopez Grinberg who finished second at 1:48.11. Guido Dipietro rounded out the podium in third with a 1:54.71 average, while Gutman also notched the round's best single solve at 1:32.56 during the clash.

Lopez Grinberg found his own redemption in the 7x7x7 Cube final, taking victory with a 2:42.50 average and delivering the fastest single solve of the event at 2:25.26. Dipietro claimed second place with an average of 2:55.00, while Gutman added another podium to his weekend tally by finishing third in 3:00.92. The big cube contests demonstrated exceptional stamina and precision across all phases of solve execution.

In the Megaminx event, Leandro Martín López displayed commanding mastery over the twelve-sided puzzle, topping the field of 30 competitors with a 27.68 winning average and a 25.06 best single across two rounds. Damián Jail Campos captured second place with a 34.39 average, ahead of Felipe Maierowicz in third at 43.61. Campos had his own moment at the top of the podium in 3x3x3 One-Handed, claiming victory with a 14.17 average.

Short-format puzzles brought equally sharp competition to the tables. GP Estevez triumphed in Pyraminx with an average of 3.43 and a tournament-best single of 2.50, edging out Federico da Fonseca at 4.41 and Campos at 6.11. Da Fonseca secured first place in Skewb with a 3.01 average, while Manuel Jontin Luna captured the Clock crown with a 6.54 average, outperforming Dipietro at 7.02 and Maierowicz at 7.22. Maierowicz also claimed gold in Square-1, recording a 10.47 winning average alongside a quick 7.53 single.

Beyond the top steps of the podium, several competitors achieved major individual milestones across multiple disciplines. Bruno Koutnouyan entered eight events, taking on his first ever attempts at 6x6x6 Cube with a time of 3:35.77 and 7x7x7 Cube with a time of 5:28.14, while also achieving a Square-1 personal best of 40.72 that improved on his previous mark by 55.9 percent. Kande Castillo achieved a first 7x7x7 Cube attempt of 4:54.75 and cut their Square-1 personal best by 33.9 percent down to 16.77.

The blindfolded categories offered pure drama as solvers relied entirely on memory without visual cues during the solve phase. Gutman captured his second gold of the tournament in 3x3x3 Blindfolded, logging a winning single of 16.15 ahead of Nicolas Campanario at 22.64 and Dipietro at 21.17.
