Xuanyi Geng and Yiheng Wang Set Blistering Standard at Deqing Small and Special 2026English

A blistering 3.71 winning average by Xuanyi Geng in the 3x3x3 Cube set the tone inside the Deqing International Exhibition Center, establishing an electric pace that carried across every round of the day. The expansive hall in Huzhou, Zhejiang, China, provided an ideal backdrop as solvers gathered under bright tournament lighting, with timer displays flashing rapid marks across fifteen hard-fought rounds. That standout average, coupled with Geng registering a best single of 2.80, delivered an immediate highlight for the 171 competitors who arrived for a packed schedule of speed cubing excellence on April 26, 2026.

The one-day WCA competition brought together an energetic field across six different events, turning the Deqing International Exhibition Center into a hub of intense focus and rapid mechanical turning. Beyond the classic Rubik's Cube, the roster highlighted smaller and specialised puzzles, drawing deep rosters and eager contenders to every stage. Deqing Small & Special 2026 demonstrated the depth of the local scene, filling the arena with continuous action from the morning qualification flights through to the late afternoon finals where podium spots were contested across every category.

The 3x3 results formed the centerpiece of the tournament, featuring a competitive group of 161 entrants across three exhaustive rounds. Xuanyi Geng secured first place on the podium with that 3.71 average, staying clear of a competitive final group. Bofan Zhang locked up second place with an impressive 4.38 average, while Yiheng Wang rounded out the top three by posting a 4.62 average. The quality of execution in the final round showed just how demanding the standard at the top of modern speedcubing has become in 2026.

Yiheng Wang delivered another sensational performance in the 2x2x2 Cube, topping a massive field of 122 competitors across two rounds to capture first place with a sub-second 0.93 average and a best single of 0.55. The podium saw intense pressure right to the end, with Qiyu Zhang taking second place courtesy of a 1.17 mark and Tian Xia capturing third place with a 1.64 average. The lightning-fast turns echoed through the venue as finalists completed solves in fractions of a second.
