Jan Riedl Claims Victory at Czech FMC Championship 2025 in PragueEnglish

Inside the quiet halls of the Národní technická knihovna, also known as the National Library of Technology, pencils moved methodically across paper as competitors analysed scramble sheets. The specialized tournament gathered enthusiasts of efficient solving into the heart of Prague, Czech Republic, on August 29, 2025. Unlike the high-speed clatter heard at a typical cubing competition, the atmosphere in the library remained hushed, deliberate, and intensely focused on each rotation of the classic Rubik's Cube.

Falling late in the competitive calendar, this event arrived at a strategic moment in the 2025 season where specialists could test their planning before the closing stretch of the year. As a single-discipline WCA competition, the single day of play demanded maximum concentration over three exhaustive attempts. With national rankings on the line, solvers knew that every single move saved would define their standing in the regional scene.

A total of 13 competitors took part in the Czech FMC Championship 2025, which featured one specialized event across a single decisive round. The standard 3x3x3 Fewest Moves format allows sixty minutes per attempt to find and write out the shortest possible solution sequence. Precision was paramount, as single mistakes could derail an entire mean across the afternoon.

Jan Riedl delivered a masterclass in efficiency to capture first place on home soil. Riedl recorded a winning average of 22.00 moves alongside the best single of the entire tournament at 20 moves. That dominant display put Riedl comfortably ahead of the pack, securing a memorable win that set the benchmark for the season.

The remaining podium steps saw a tense domestic battle for silver and bronze. Matěj Grohmann claimed second place with a final average of 27.00 moves and a best single solve of 23. Close behind, David Slabý locked down the third spot on the podium by recording a 27.33 average, supported by a sharp single attempt of 26 moves, completing an all-Czech podium sweep.

Away from the top steps of the podium, several dedicated competitors logged important milestones that the final standings do not immediately reveal. Adam Kořínek, taking part in his 69th career tournament, secured a 9th-place finish while setting a new personal best single of 34 moves, which improved upon his previous best of 36 by 5.6 percent. Meanwhile, Jiří Vogl entered his 37th career competition and took on his first ever attempt at 3x3x3 Fewest Moves, navigating the discipline to complete a 39-move solve and earn 12th place.

Other experienced solvers also added valuable results to their profiles in Prague. Cyril Teichmann finished 6th overall with an average of 36.00 and a best single of 33 moves across the event. Emma Beranová placed 10th with an average of 49.33 and a single of 47 moves, marking another solid appearance in her 53rd career outing. Jan Křížka, competing in his 115th career tournament, concluded the day in 13th place as the sole discipline tested everyone in the field.

Beyond the podium contenders, the international field saw Chiara Marcucci of Italy register a 29.00 average with a best single of 27 moves to secure fourth position overall. Tomáš Nguyen completed the top five by delivering an average of 30.00 and a best single of 26 moves, illustrating the depth present in the 3x3 results across the scoresheet.

Lower down the order, Emil Henry Huber achieved an average of 36.67 moves featuring a single effort of 29 moves, while David Nesiba put together a 37.33 average with a single of 35. These tightly grouped finishes demonstrated how competitive every tier of the standings remained throughout the single round of speedcubing.

As the pens were set down and the scores tallied, the Czech FMC Championship 2025 wrapped up its concise yet demanding programme. The contest served as a shining demonstration of classical speed cubing theory and mental stamina, providing solvers from across the region with valuable momentum as the competitive calendar moves toward future seasons.

Místo rychlého otáčení kostek a cvakání stopek dominoval sálu šustot papíru, tužky a hluboká analýza jednotlivých tahů. Právě zde se 29. srpna 2025 odehrál turnaj zaměřený výhradně na tuto strategickou odnož, v níž každý jednotlivý krok rozhoduje o celkovém úspěchu a kde závodníci musejí prokázat maximální teoretickou přípravu.

Do hlavního města dorazilo celkem 13 soutěžících, aby změřili síly v jediné vypsané disciplíně, kterou bylo řešení na co nejmenší počet tahů. Událost Czech FMC Championship 2025 přinesla v jednom kole nesmírně vyrovnané souboje i vynikající individuální výkony. Tato specifická speedcubing disciplína prověřila schopnost závodníků najít v časovém limitu šedesáti minut co nejefektivnější sekvenci tahů vedoucí ke složení klasické Rubikovy kostky.

Zlatou medaili a celkové vítězství si bezkonkurenčním způsobem zajistil Jan Riedl, který reprezentoval domácí barvy. V průběhu tří soutěžních pokusů zaznamenal vítězný průměr 22.00 tahů a připsal si také nejlepší jednotlivý zápis celého dne v hodnotě 20 tahů. Tento mimořádný výkon stanovil nová měřítka turnaje a znamenal zápis do rekordních statistik v disciplíně 3x3x3 Fewest Moves v rámci hodnocení jednotlivých pokusů i celkového průměru.

Celá cubing competition v prostorách moderní knihovny nabídla precizní organizaci a potvrdila, že i komornější WCA competition má v kalendáři své pevné místo. Všechny tři medailové pozice zůstaly zásluhou skvělých výsledků v rukou domácích reprezentantů. Turnaj Czech FMC Championship 2025 v lokalitě Prague, Czech Republic se zapsal do povědomí skvělým triumfem Jana Riedla a ukázal vysokou úroveň analytického řešení hlavolamů.
