The tables were set and the timers glowed inside the spacious Natchitoches Events Center as solvers gathered from across the region for three full days of action. From July 18 to July 20, the historic Louisiana venue served as the battleground for speedcubing talent testing their dexterity against the clock. Across 39 rounds and 16 different disciplines, 72 competitors arrived ready to push their limits and claim bragging rights in Natchitoches, Louisiana, USA. The hall buzzed with mechanical turns as rivalries unfolded in every bracket from early morning scrambles to the final showdowns.

The premier 3x3x3 Cube contest delivered sharp head-to-head excitement throughout three contested rounds. Dylan Miller came out on top to secure victory in the main Rubik's Cube category, delivering a winning average of 6.79 seconds and posting a weekend-best single solve of 5.64 seconds across the 69-player bracket. The chase for podium places tested every entrant, keeping the pressure high as the final 3x3 results were posted on the board.

While Miller captured the classic puzzle, Ryan Pilat produced a massive haul of titles that shaped the direction of the CubingUSA Southern Championship 2025. Pilat demonstrated command across multiple formats, topping the 4x4x4 Cube with a 24.12-second average and winning 3x3x3 One-Handed with a 12.24 average. He maintained that momentum on Square-1 with a winning average of 7.40 and secured the 5x5x5 Cube crown with a 48.95 mark, edging past Miller who placed second with a 57.15 average while Alex Bohac secured third at 58.47.

Pilat continued his campaign on the large cubes, claiming the 6x6x6 Cube title with an average of 1:30.24 ahead of runner-up Lydia Workman at 1:55.02 and third-place Keon Wilson at 2:03.39. In the 7x7x7 Cube final, Pilat posted a winning 2:21.74 average, while Workman again took second place with a 2:47.33 average and Bohac took third at 2:59.79. Pilat also completed a sweep of three blindfolded disciplines, logging an 18.42 single in 3x3x3 Blindfolded, a 3:26.29 single in 4x4x4 Blindfolded, and a 7:32.13 in 5x5x5 Blindfolded, where Nathan Benson took second with a 14:22.00 single.

Beyond the top steps of the podium, a wave of dedicated solvers delivered milestone performances across the schedule. Ezra Wann dropped their Clock personal best down to 18.67 seconds, cutting 51.2 percent off their prior 38.22 mark, while also setting a 2x2x2 Cube personal best of 12.18 seconds and completing a first ever attempt at 4x4x4 Cube in 2:43.17. Oliver Lee took on seven events and finished sixth in Clock, cutting their personal best in the event to 4.68 seconds, dropping their 3x3x3 One-Handed personal best by 30.5 percent to 26.92, and attempting Square-1 for the first time with a 1:08.35 single. Jazer Farley took on 11 events, achieving a 12th-place finish in Pyraminx, logging a 4x4x4 Cube personal best of 39.26 seconds, and posting first-time attempts in 6x6x6 Cube at 2:51.06 and 7x7x7 Cube at 4:19.44. Meanwhile, Drake Corkran dropped their 2x2x2 Cube personal best by 37.7 percent to 6.63 seconds and tackled initial attempts in 4x4x4 Cube at 2:06.61 and Pyraminx at 10.29.

Other competitors embraced new challenges across the weekend at the CubingUSA Southern Championship 2025. Samuel Spencer stepped up for seven events, recording first-time marks of 9.27 in Pyraminx, 41.51 in 3x3x3 One-Handed, and 31.87 in Clock. Jacob Ryan contested 12 separate disciplines, earning tenth place in Clock while logging debut attempts in Clock at 7.86, Skewb at 6.75, and 7x7x7 Cube at 8:25.69. Benjamin Foster Garcia competed in five events, logging first attempts in Pyraminx at 13.02, Skewb at 16.03, and Clock at 31.50. Entering their first WCA competition, Red Ossar tackled eight events, establishing marks of 24.88 in the 3x3x3 Cube, 9.59 in Skewb, and 32.60 in Square-1.

The side events brought further high-speed drama to the arena as specialists battled for top honours. Alex Bohac secured two major titles, winning the Clock event with a 3.50 average and leading the Pyraminx standings with an average of 2.23 seconds to hold off Pilat, who took second at 2.27, and Everett Flott in third at 3.04. Keon Wilson prevailed in Skewb, recording a winning average of 3.80 seconds from a field of 56 contenders. Rowan Stough captured the fast-paced 2x2x2 Cube title with an average of 1.79 seconds, finishing ahead of Pilat at 1.86 and Bohac at 2.11.

Long-form memory challenges closed out the multi-puzzle schedule, highlighting the concentration required in complex blindfolded disciplines. Fletcher Berry captured victory in 3x3x3 Multi-Blind by successfully solving 24 out of 28 cubes in 57:40, adding to runner-up finishes behind Pilat in both 3x3x3 Blindfolded with a 22.52 single and 4x4x4 Blindfolded with a 7:07.83 single. Dylan Miller added another victory to his tally by taking the Megaminx title with a 36.92 average. The three-day speed cubing gathering proved to be a comprehensive showcase of precision and regional talent, leaving a lasting mark on the 2025 cubing competition calendar as the CubingUSA Southern Championship 2025 drew to a close.
