The tables were set and the timers glowed ready inside the TMMOB Teoman Öztürk Öğrenci Evi ve Sosyal Tesisi in Ankara, Turkey, as competitors arrived for a full weekend of puzzle solving. Hands warmed up over plastic layers, inspection habits were reviewed, and scorecards circulated among the thirty-eight participants gathering from across the country. Across April 29 to April 30, the two-day schedule delivered eighteen rounds of intense focus, testing both seasoned tournament regulars and newer solvers taking their first major steps on the official stage.

The atmosphere of a WCA competition always carries a distinctive energy for those stepping up to the solving stations for their first tournament trials. Stepping into the staging area, adjusting the mat, and watching the judge lift the cover brings a unique kind of pressure that home practice cannot replicate. At CubingTR 10 Years 2023, that initial nervousness quickly transformed into genuine momentum as newcomers settled into their rhythm across ten distinct official events.

While the final brackets captured the trophies, the heartbeat of the tournament lived in the remarkable breakthroughs across the roster. Mustafa Doruk Kapancı delivered one of the weekend's sharpest surges, cutting his 2x2x2 Cube personal best down to 4.92 seconds, an improvement of 47.8 percent over his prior 9.43 mark, alongside an 8.9 percent drop in the 3x3x3 Cube to 21.02. Deniz Onat Yüreğir entered three events and saw massive leaps, dropping his 2x2x2 Cube mark by 41.1 percent to 8.03, improving his Pyraminx time by 17.9 percent to 9.33, and setting a 41.88 personal best in the 3x3x3 Cube. Egehan Güngör slashed his 3x3x3 Cube time by 39.9 percent to 43.21 seconds, down from 1:11.94, while Can Oymagil improved his 3x3x3 Cube mark by 32.9 percent to 29.72 seconds and his 2x2x2 Cube time by 20.1 percent to 7.61.

First-time event appearances also marked major milestones throughout the weekend. Arda Kaman took on his first ever attempt at 2x2x2 Cube with a 4.45 single, alongside a 31.1 percent personal best improvement in the 3x3x3 Cube to 13.49 seconds. Dağhan Yılmaz logged his first ever attempt at Pyraminx with an 11.82 single while trimming his 3x3x3 Cube record by 15.2 percent to 16.47. İhsan Akın Çelik tackled four events, recording his first ever attempt at Skewb at 11.49 seconds and trimming his 2x2x2 Cube best by 5.2 percent to 6.63. Tuncer Efe Doğan took on three disciplines, logging his first ever attempt at 4x4x4 Cube in 2:15.37 and shaving his 3x3x3 Cube best to 26.93 seconds.

At the top of the standings, Ahmet Çınar Ablak produced an extraordinary sweep across the board, capturing nine of the ten titles contested throughout the weekend. Ablak opened strong in the 3x3x3 Cube, setting the tournament pace through three rounds and locking down the victory with a 7.26 winning average and a best single of 6.73 seconds. In the classic Rubik's Cube final, Umut Coşan secured the second position with an average of 11.65 seconds, while Birkan Mayadağ completed the podium in third place with a mark of 12.05 seconds, finalizing the headline 3x3 results.

Ablak carried that same dominance through the remaining speedcubing disciplines on the schedule. In the 2x2x2 Cube, Ablak recorded a winning average of 2.28 seconds and a best single of 1.66 across three competitive rounds. In one-handed solving, Ablak posted a 14.15 average for the win, finishing ahead of Emirhan Gökçe at 22.52 and Onur Karahan at 24.56. On the side events, Ablak claimed the Clock title with an 8.77 average ahead of Timur Demirci at 13.25 and Ecevit Ablak at 14.53, while also taking first place in Pyraminx with a 5.10 average ahead of Gökçe and Can Ersoy.

The larger puzzles and specialized challenges saw Ablak extend his reach even further. A 32.15 average secured the 4x4x4 Cube victory ahead of Birkan Mayadağ at 48.67 and Bora Azizoğlu at 53.71, while the 5x5x5 Cube title went to Ablak in 59.60 seconds, with Mayadağ taking second at 1:47.45 and Gökçe third at 1:57.09. Ablak also took top honours in Megaminx with a 54.36 average and conquered Square-1 with a winning mark of 10.62 seconds, leading Mayadağ and Azizoğlu to the podium.

The lone title to elude Ablak fell to Bora Azizoğlu in the Skewb event. Navigating two rounds against twelve competitors, Azizoğlu delivered a decisive 4.97 average and a 2.98 best single to capture first place on the podium. Across all ten events, Turkish competitors secured all thirty podium placements, demonstrating high depth across every puzzle category.

As the final timers were packed away and the certificates awarded, CubingTR 10 Years 2023 stood as a vibrant showcase of community growth in Ankara. From seasoned multi-event champions to newcomers discovering the joy of their first personal records, the gathering highlighted the continuous expansion of speed cubing excellence across the 2023 competitive calendar.

Ankara, Turkey sınırlarında düzenlenen CubingTR 10 Years 2023 etkinliğinde Ahmet Çınar Ablak, katıldığı on kategorinin dokuzunda zafere ulaşarak hafta sonunun en çarpıcı performansına imza attı. 29 Nisan ve 30 Nisan tarihlerinde TMMOB Teoman Öztürk Öğrenci Evi ve Sosyal Tesisi salonunda gerçekleşen organizasyon, Türkiye genelinden gelen 38 yarışmacıyı ağırladı. Özellikle klasik Rubik Küp olarak bilinen ana kategorideki yoğun katılım, her turda çıtayı yukarı taşıdı ve finale giden yolu oldukça zorlu bir mücadeleye dönüştürdü.

Ana etkinlik olan 3x3x3 Cube mücadelesinde 37 yarışmacı sıralama turlarında ter döktü. Üç eleme turu boyunca devam eden çekişmeli seansların ardından Ahmet Çınar Ablak, 7.26 saniyelik ortalama ve 6.73 saniyelik en iyi tekil derecesiyle birinciliği elde etti. Kürsünün ikinci basamağında 11.65 ortalama kaydeden Umut Coşan yer alırken, Birkan Mayadağ 12.05 ortalama ile üçüncü sırayı aldı. Bu zorlu grupta finallere kalabilmek saniyelerin onda biriyle ölçülen son derece dar zaman aralıklarına sahne oldu.

Hafta sonunun en geniş katılımlı bir diğer yarışı olan 2x2x2 Cube etkinliğinde 28 yarışmacı üç tur boyunca karşılaştı. Ahmet Çınar Ablak, 2.28 ortalaması ve 1.66 tekil derecesiyle bu disiplinde de zirveye çıktı. Çok sayıda katılımcının yer aldığı bu etapta Orkun Efe Dahar 2.57 tekil ve 4.78 ortalama, Nihat Sarp Ustaömer 2.59 tekil ve 3.71 ortalama, Can Ersoy ise 4.61 tekil ve 6.61 ortalama kaydetti. Ayrıca Bora Azizoğlu 4.05 tekil ve 4.26 ortalama, Mustafa Doruk Kapancı 6.88 tekil ve 7.51 ortalama, Tuncer Efe Doğan ise 11.41 tekil ve 15.70 ortalama yaptı.

Aynı kategoride Onur Karahan 3.54 tekil ve 4.48 ortalamaya ulaşırken, Nejat Ege Bilgen 2.59 tekil ve 4.95 ortalama elde etti. Emirhan Gökçe 3.38 tekil ile 4.03 ortalama yaparken Timur Demirci 4.70 tekil ve 5.25 ortalama ile turları tamamladı. Skewb kategorisinde ise Bora Azizoğlu, iki tur sonunda 4.97 ortalama ve 2.98 tekil derece yaparak Ahmet Çınar Ablak haricinde altın madalyaya uzanan tek isim oldu. 16 yarışmacının katıldığı Pyraminx dalında Ahmet Çınar Ablak 5.10 ortalamayla birinci olurken, Emirhan Gökçe 6.04 ile ikinci, Can Ersoy 6.68 ile üçüncü oldu.

Turnuvanın sıralama listelerinin ötesinde, kendi sınırlarını zorlayan sporcuların gösterdiği gelişimler dikkat çekti. Can Alkan kariyerinin 4. turnuvasında 2 kategoride mücadele ederken 2x2x2 Cube dalındaki ilk resmi denemesinde 16.14 yaptı ve 3x3x3 Cube kategorisinde 35.65 yaparak önceki 36.77 derecesini yüzde 3 geliştirdi. Erdem Uzun kariyerinin 3. yarışmasında 2 dalda yarışarak 2x2x2 Cube dalındaki ilk denemesinde 6.35 elde etti. Nejat Ege Bilgen 6. turnuvasında 2x2x2 Cube dalında 8. sıraya yerleşti; 3x3x3 Cube derecesini yüzde 19.7 ilerleterek 16.03 seviyesinden 12.87 seviyesine, 2x2x2 Cube derecesini ise yüzde 4.8 geliştirerek 2.72 seviyesinden 2.59 seviyesine çekti. Kuzey Yilmaz 10. organizasyonunda 5 etkinlikte yer alıp Skewb dalında 15.51 ile önceki 17.05 derecesini yüzde 9, 3x3x3 One-Handed dalında ise 46.11 ile yüzde 5.5 geliştirdi.

İlk kez bir WCA competition atmosferine çıkan isimler de dikkat çekici başlangıçlara imza attı. Berat Yılmaz ilk turnuvasında 4 ayrı kategoride yarışarak 2x2x2 Cube için 5.97, 3x3x3 Cube için 19.60 ve Pyraminx için 6.99 derecelerini ilk denemelerinde kaydetti. Ömer Argüder ilk yarışma deneyiminde 3 kategoride yer alarak 2x2x2 Cube dalında 11.79, Pyraminx dalında 10.82 ve 3x3x3 Cube dalında 48.83 yaptı. Güney Ünal katıldığı bu ilk turnuvada 3x3x3 Cube dalında 11.57 ile 8. sırayı alırken 2x2x2 Cube denemesinde 4.73 elde etti. Mehmet Nusret Aksu ise ilk resmi mücadelesinde Pyraminx dalında 9.45 kaydetti.

Tek el ve büyük küp disiplinlerinde de rekabet hızı kesilmedi. 3x3x3 One-Handed kategorisinde Ahmet Çınar Ablak 14.15 ortalamayla şampiyon olurken Emirhan Gökçe 22.52 ile ikinci, Onur Karahan 24.56 ile üçüncü sırayı aldı. 4x4x4 Cube etkinliğinde Ahmet Çınar Ablak 32.15 ortalamayla birinci gelirken Birkan Mayadağ 48.67 ile ikinci, Bora Azizoğlu 53.71 ile üçüncü oldu. 5x5x5 Cube finalinde Ahmet Çınar Ablak 59.60 ortalama yakalarken Birkan Mayadağ 1:47.45 ile gümüş madalyayı, Emirhan Gökçe 1:57.09 ile bronz madalyayı kazandı.

Hafta sonunun diğer teknik bulmacalarında da benzer bir denge hakimdi. Megaminx kategorisinde Ahmet Çınar Ablak 54.36 ortalama ile zirveye çıkarken Birkan Mayadağ 1:23.19 ile ikinci, Emirhan Gökçe 2:12.12 ile üçüncü oldu. Clock yarışmasında Ahmet Çınar Ablak 8.77 ortalamayla kazanırken Timur Demirci 13.25 ile ikinci, Ecevit Ablak 14.53 ile üçüncü basamağa yerleşti. Square-1 mücadelesinde ise Ahmet Çınar Ablak 10.62 ortalama yaparak birinci olurken Birkan Mayadağ 27.36 ile ikinci, Bora Azizoğlu 31.95 ile üçüncü sırada yer aldı.

Toplam 18 turun koşulduğu bu speedcubing buluşması, Türkiye merkezli sporcuların tüm podyum derecelerini paylaştığı yüksek tempolu anlara sahne oldu. Ankara'da tamamlanan CubingTR 10 Years 2023 organizasyonu, hem tecrübeli isimlerin istikrarını hem de ilk kez sahneye çıkan yarışmacıların ortaya koyduğu performansı aynı çatı altında buluşturdu. 2023 takviminde yer alan bu önemli cubing competition, genişleyen sporcu havuzunun mücadele gücünü bir kez daha tescillemiş oldu.
