Ojas Nimaje Claims Triple Crown as Consistent Solving Triumphs in NagpurEnglish

Forty-three competitors gathered at Somalwar High School & Junior College, Nikalas Branch for Cubing Returns Nagpur 2025, where rock-solid consistency across multi-solve rounds separated the champions from the chasing pack. Staged on February 16, 2025, the tournament brought together speedcubing talent from across the region to test their nerves through eight rounds of action across five official events. In a sport where a single fast turn can turn heads, the day belonged entirely to solvers whose discipline across five-solve averages delivered victories.

The premier 3x3x3 Cube event drew the largest field of the weekend, with 43 hopefuls taking to the tables across two intense rounds. While single-solve speed always draws attention, the 3x3 results proved that poise over an entire average decided the title. Ojas Nimaje took top honours in the main Rubik's Cube category, delivering a winning average of 8.98 seconds anchored by a best single of 7.37. Mohd Asad Ahmad secured second place with an average of 10.75, while Bhargav Amol Ingle took third with an 11.22 average.

Nimaje proved his mastery was no fluke by mounting a multi-event campaign built on steady execution. In the 2x2x2 Cube, 28 competitors pushed the pace over two rounds, but Nimaje once again came out on top. He secured the gold with a 3.25 average and a best single of 2.69 seconds. Kartavya Samat followed closely behind to claim the second step on the podium with a 3.56 average, while Pranav Dandgaval completed the top three with an average of 3.89 seconds.

The one-handed discipline further highlighted the value of repeatable technique over sudden bursts of speed. In the 3x3x3 One-Handed final featuring 16 competitors, Nimaje completed his third victory of the day with a 14.93 average and a top single of 13.13. Ayser Alam Khan secured second place by posting an average of 18.84, while Samat stepped onto the podium again to claim third place with a 21.98 average.

Away from the top of the standings, the real heartbeat of the cubing competition came from several solvers who pushed their personal limits to new heights. Sparsh Khushal Taori, who took on four events, made huge strides by slashing his 2x2x2 Cube personal best to 4.08 seconds, an improvement of 79.7 percent from 20.09, alongside a 41.5 percent drop in Pyraminx to 13.09 and a 35.3 percent reduction in 3x3x3 to 24.85, finishing 18th in 4x4x4. Kaant Sachin Deshpande tackled five events, finishing fourth in Pyraminx with a personal best of 6.39 seconds that was 42.8 percent faster than his prior mark, while also logging his first ever attempts in 3x3x3 One-Handed at 1:00.07 and 4x4x4 Cube at 1:03.85. Krutika Kuntal Zade entered three events and delivered a 42.4 percent cut to her 2x2x2 personal best down to 12.46 seconds, alongside improvements to 45.51 in 3x3x3 and 20.41 in Pyraminx. Reyansh Gupta entered four events, earned a seventh-place finish in 2x2x2 Cube, logged his first ever 3x3x3 One-Handed attempt at 56.76 seconds, and improved his 2x2x2 best by 35.8 percent to 3.42 seconds and his 4x4x4 best by 22 percent to 1:16.01.

The breakthroughs continued across the roster as more competitors found their rhythm. Haripriya Ravi Karia entered four events, posting a personal best of 38.90 in 3x3x3 Cube, improving Pyraminx by 22.8 percent to 14.27, and logging a first ever attempt in 4x4x4 Cube at 2:53.53 to take 16th place. Saumyajeet Rai took on five events, earning an eighth-place finish in Pyraminx, logging a 3x3x3 One-Handed personal best of 1:04.44, and dropping his 4x4x4 Cube personal best by 16.3 percent to 1:38.47 and 2x2x2 mark by 11.8 percent to 3.88. In the 3x3x3 Cube, Tanishq Gawai achieved a 10th place finish after improving his personal best by 21.1 percent to 8.97 seconds, and Anish Sanjay Dayani lowered his single mark by 13.3 percent down to 14.20 seconds.

The larger puzzles demanded both mechanical endurance and tactical discipline throughout the afternoon. In the 4x4x4 Cube event, which brought 20 competitors to the floor for a direct final, Ayser Alam Khan captured the victory with a 45.53 average and a single of 41.58. Dandgaval pushed Khan to the wire, earning second place with an average of 46.41 seconds, while Samat took third with an average of 56.79.

The Pyraminx event featured a high-speed duel across two rounds among 25 entrants, where small margins decided the medals. Pranav Dandgaval prevailed with a winning average of 5.84 seconds and a single of 4.44. Khan finished in second place with a 5.99 average, just ahead of Ingle, who rounded out the podium positions with a 7.59 average. Across every bracket, Indian competitors claimed all fifteen podium spots available during the meet.

As the final timers stopped, Cubing Returns Nagpur 2025 concluded as a showcase of poise, technical skill, and deep focus in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. The single-day WCA competition highlighted how structured preparation and consistent round averages outlast individual fast solves. With multiple personal bests established and hard-earned trophies secured, the local speed cubing community in Nagpur closed out the 2025 contest with strong momentum for the rest of the season.
