Cubing Enters Odisha 2023

27 competitors gathered in Bargarh, Odisha, India on August 19, 2023, turning Sanskar International School into a bustling hub of competitive speedcubing. The one-day tournament brought together solvers across 5 events and 8 rounds of intense action. Serving as a landmark WCA competition for the region, the gathering tested solving speed, dexterity, and consistency across both classic and specialist puzzles.

The 2x2x2 Cube event proved particularly memorable as competitors delivered a flurry of standout performances and personal benchmarks. Susobhan Nath set the benchmark for the event with a single of 3.45 seconds and an average of 4.20 seconds during the opening round before claiming gold in the final with a winning average of 6.26 seconds. Arun Kannan pushed hard with an opening single of 4.07 seconds and a 5.22 average, while Vansh Bansal registered a 3.56 single and 5.30 average in the first round.

The 2x2x2 Cube opening stage also saw impressive times across the roster at Cubing Enters Odisha 2023. Devansh Bansal logged an opening single of 4.36 seconds alongside a 6.89 average, while Biswajit Bhoi marked a 12.00 single and 14.99 average. Adarsh Kumar Sashni posted a 9.88 single and 20.28 average, Naman Goyal put up a 19.15 single and 25.87 average, Jayanta Kumar Biswal notched a 20.48 single and 32.23 average, Ayush Saha logged a 16.03 single and 37.04 average, and Chirag Chintan recorded a 35.56 single and 42.58 average.

In the marquee 3x3x3 Cube competition, 24 competitors took to the tables across two rounds of solving. Vansh Bansal delivered the standout performance of the event, capturing first place with a winning average of 11.60 seconds and posting the best single of the event at 10.54 seconds. Susobhan Nath took the second podium spot with an average of 14.63 seconds, while Sudipta Kumar Sabar finished third with a 16.59 average, completing a thrilling set of 3x3 results.

Beyond the classic Rubik's Cube, the specialist events showcased remarkable technical skill throughout the cubing competition. In the 3x3x3 One-Handed event, Arun Kannan claimed the title with an average of 24.15 seconds and a single of 20.54 seconds, ahead of Nath at 29.53 seconds and Bansal at 33.05 seconds. Kannan struck gold again in the Pyraminx final with a 5.15 average and a 3.00 single, where Devansh Bansal took second in 11.66 seconds and Nath took third in 11.71 seconds. In the 4x4x4 Cube, Nath secured another gold with a 59.47 average.

The weekend also highlighted fresh talent stepping up to their first official tournament at Cubing Enters Odisha 2023. Ayush Saha entered four separate disciplines in their first appearance, securing a best finish of 4th in the 4x4x4 Cube while recording a first attempt at the 2x2x2 Cube in 16.03 seconds, a first 3x3x3 Cube attempt in 1:11.50, and a Pyraminx solve in 29.24 seconds. Biswajit Bhoi took on two events, earning a 5th place finish in the 2x2x2 Cube with a 7.08 opening solve and a 30.17 first solve on the 3x3x3 Cube. Adarsh Kumar Sashni tackled three events, reaching 8th place in the 3x3x3 Cube with a 36.62 attempt alongside first marks of 9.88 in the 2x2x2 Cube and 17.09 in the Pyraminx. Naman Sharma tackled two events, claiming 5th place in the Pyraminx with an opening 16.43 effort and adding a 33.78 attempt in the 3x3x3 Cube.

The influx of new competitors continued across every stage of the schedule. Jayanta Kumar Biswal competed in three events, earning 12th place in the 3x3x3 Cube with an initial 43.47 mark, while setting first attempts of 20.48 in the 2x2x2 Cube and 56.32 in the Pyraminx. Chirag Chintan completed two events with debut solves of 35.56 in the 2x2x2 Cube and 58.48 in the 3x3x3 Cube. Aditya Narayan Panda took on two events, registering a first 3x3x3 Cube attempt of 45.20 seconds and a Pyraminx solve of 16.44 seconds. Suryans Jain rounded out the newcomers across two events, logging a 1:30.42 first solve in the 3x3x3 Cube and a 19.62 single in the Pyraminx.

The 2x2x2 Cube final saw Susobhan Nath edge out the field with a 6.26 average, closely pursued by Arun Kannan at 6.37 seconds and Vansh Bansal at 6.43 seconds. Across all five events, Indian competitors swept all 15 podium places, reflecting the high standard of speed cubing on display throughout the day at Sanskar International School.

As the final timers stopped, Cubing Enters Odisha 2023 concluded as a resounding success for the regional community in Bargarh. With commanding wins from Vansh Bansal, Arun Kannan, and Susobhan Nath, alongside promising debuts from numerous first-time competitors, the tournament established a solid foundation for competitive cubing in Odisha heading into the next season.

27 प्रतियोगियों ने Sanskar International School में आयोजित एक दिवसीय प्रतियोगिता में अपनी गति और एकाग्रता का शानदार प्रदर्शन किया। Bargarh, Odisha, India में 19 अगस्त 2023 को आयोजित Cubing Enters Odisha 2023 में 5 अलग-अलग स्पर्धाओं में कुल 8 राउंड खेले गए। इस स्पीडक्यूबिंग स्पर्धा में हर एक सेकंड और हर एक टर्न का अपना महत्व था। विशेष रूप से जहां कम प्रयासों वाले प्रारूप में एक भी छोटी सी गलती पूरे परिणाम को बदल सकती थी, वहां शीर्ष खिलाड़ियों ने जबरदस्त संयम और तकनीक का परिचय दिया।

मुख्य 3x3x3 Cube स्पर्धा में कुल 24 प्रतिभागियों ने हिस्सा लिया। दो राउंड के कड़े मुकाबले के बाद Vansh Bansal ने 11.60 के विजयी औसत के साथ पहला स्थान हासिल किया। इस स्पर्धा का सर्वश्रेष्ठ सिंगल 10.54 भी Vansh Bansal के नाम रहा। इस मुख्य पोडियम पर Susobhan Nath ने 14.63 के औसत के साथ दूसरा स्थान और Sudipta Kumar Sabar ने 16.59 के औसत के साथ तीसरा स्थान प्राप्त किया। रूबिक क्यूब (Rubik's Cube) के इस पारंपरिक प्रारूप में शीर्ष खिलाड़ियों के बीच रोमांचक मुकाबला देखने को मिला।

4x4x4 Cube स्पर्धा में Susobhan Nath ने शानदार प्रदर्शन करते हुए 59.47 का औसत दर्ज कर खिताबी जीत हासिल की। उन्होंने इस स्पर्धा में 54.34 का सर्वश्रेष्ठ सिंगल भी निकाला। Arun Kannan ने 1:11.63 के औसत के साथ दूसरा और Vansh Bansal ने 1:18.36 के साथ तीसरा स्थान प्राप्त किया। इस बड़े क्यूब की स्पर्धा में कुल 5 प्रतियोगियों ने भाग लिया था, जहां प्रत्येक मोड़ पर सटीकता बेहद आवश्यक साबित हुई।

3x3x3 One-Handed स्पर्धा में Arun Kannan ने अपनी एक हाथ से हल करने की असाधारण क्षमता का प्रदर्शन करते हुए 24.15 का औसत और 20.54 का बेहतरीन सिंगल निकालकर जीत दर्ज की। इस स्पर्धा में 3 प्रतिभागियों ने हिस्सा लिया था, जिसमें Susobhan Nath 29.53 के औसत के साथ दूसरे और Vansh Bansal 33.05 के औसत के साथ तीसरे स्थान पर रहे। सीमित चालों और सख्त नियंत्रण की मांग वाले इस इवेंट में Arun Kannan की गति निर्णायक रही।

2x2x2 Cube स्पर्धा में रोमांच अपने चरम पर था, जहां पोडियम के तीनों स्थानों के बीच सेकंड के कुछ हिस्सों का ही अंतर रहा। Susobhan Nath ने 6.26 के औसत और 5.03 के सर्वश्रेष्ठ सिंगल के साथ स्वर्ण पदक जीता। Arun Kannan ने 6.37 का औसत निकालकर रजत और Vansh Bansal ने 6.43 के औसत के साथ कांस्य पदक अपने नाम किया। Pyraminx स्पर्धा में Arun Kannan ने 5.15 के विजयी औसत और 3.00 के बेस्ट सिंगल के साथ पहला स्थान हासिल किया, जबकि Devansh Bansal ने 11.66 के साथ दूसरा और Susobhan Nath ने 11.71 के साथ तीसरा स्थान पाया।

नतीजों की मुख्य तालिका से परे इस प्रतियोगिता में कई नए खिलाड़ियों ने अपने आधिकारिक सफर की शुरुआत की। Shashwat Agrawal की यह पहली WCA competition थी, जहां उन्होंने 2 स्पर्धाओं में भाग लिया और Pyraminx में 11.71 का अपना पहला प्रयास दर्ज करते हुए चौथा स्थान हासिल किया, साथ ही 3x3x3 Cube में 22.24 का पहला प्रयास किया। Nishant Singhal ने भी अपनी पहली प्रतियोगिता में 2 स्पर्धाएं चुनीं और 4x4x4 Cube में चौथा स्थान हासिल करने के साथ 3x3x3 Cube में 59.66 का पहला प्रयास दर्ज किया। Debashish Pradhan ने 1 स्पर्धा में उतरकर Pyraminx में 34.86 का अपना पहला आधिकारिक प्रयास पूरा किया, जबकि Omkar Ratha ने 3x3x3 Cube में 29.74 का पहला प्रयास कर 11वां स्थान प्राप्त किया।

इसी तरह नए मंच पर कदम रखने वाले अन्य प्रतियोगियों ने भी शानदार शुरुआत की। Mohammad Aabid ने अपनी पहली आधिकारिक स्पर्धा के तौर पर Pyraminx में हिस्सा लिया और 20.00 का पहला प्रयास दर्ज किया। Om Sinha ने 3x3x3 Cube स्पर्धा में उतरकर 1:02.16 का पहला प्रयास पूरा किया। Saksham Agrawal ने भी 3x3x3 Cube में अपना पदार्पण करते हुए 1:12.71 का पहला प्रयास दिया। Sparsh Agrawal ने 1 स्पर्धा में भाग लेते हुए 3x3x3 Cube में 46.02 का अपना पहला आधिकारिक प्रयास सफलतापूर्वक दर्ज कराया।

प्रतियोगिता के कुल 15 पोडियम स्थानों पर भारत के स्पीडक्यूबर्स का दबदबा रहा। Cubing Enters Odisha 2023 ने न केवल अनुभवी खिलाड़ियों को अपनी गति साबित करने का अवसर दिया, बल्कि नए उभरते खिलाड़ियों को भी आधिकारिक स्तर पर अपनी प्रतिभा प्रदर्शित करने का शानदार मंच प्रदान किया। Sanskar International School में आयोजित यह cubing competition ओडिशा के स्पीडक्यूबिंग इतिहास में एक यादगार दिन के रूप में दर्ज हो गया।

साल 2023 की इस प्रतियोगिता में सभी पांचों श्रेणियों के परिणाम खिलाड़ियों के कठोर अभ्यास और मानसिक दृढ़ता को दर्शाते हैं। एक ही दिन में आठ राउंड के सफल संचालन के साथ Cubing Enters Odisha 2023 ने यह साबित कर दिया कि क्षेत्र में स्पीडक्यूबिंग की लोकप्रियता और स्तर निरंतर बढ़ रहा है।
