CubeX Summer Open Bangalore 2025

One hundred and ten competitors gathered at the R V College of Engineering as the CubeX Summer Open Bangalore 2025 unfolded over May 24 and May 25. Across sixteen rounds of intense puzzle action, the two-day cubing competition brought together solvers from across the region to test their speed and dexterity across eight different official events. The opening sessions immediately set a rigorous pace for the entire tournament in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

Saturday began with broad qualifying rounds that whittled down deep brackets across various disciplines. In the 2x2x2 Cube, eighty-six entrants began the contest before Faisal Aziz Mehboob secured victory in the final with a blistering 2.00-second average, anchored by a best single of 1.25 seconds. Arush Singh finished as the runner-up with an average of 2.17 seconds, while Canada's Akhil Vikram took third place at 2.97 seconds in an extremely rapid final round.

The 4x4x4 Cube and Megaminx events also saw Faisal Aziz Mehboob dominate the tables. In the 4x4x4 Cube, Mehboob earned the gold medal with a winning average of 31.87 seconds and a best single time of 27.13 seconds, finishing ahead of Mohith B who averaged 33.43 seconds and Rajveer Dharmane who posted 34.07 seconds. Mehboob then added a Megaminx title by averaging 42.45 seconds, outpacing Arush Singh's 47.26 seconds and Muhammad Rayyan's 50.91 seconds in the single-round showdown.

Mohith B delivered standout performances of his own across two distinct formats. In 3x3x3 One-Handed, Mohith B captured first place with a 12.20-second winning average and a single solve of 10.51 seconds, holding off Mehboob's 13.37-second mark and Singh's 15.31-second tally. Mohith B doubled his gold tally in the Pyraminx final, navigating seventy-four entrants to post a winning average of 3.99 seconds, topping Reuben John Kumar at 4.22 seconds and Vigneshwar Kalivaradhan at 4.68 seconds.

Beyond the fight for top steps on the podium, this WCA competition revealed remarkable progress across the roster. Sriram Kartik Pillutla entered seven events and slashed his Pyraminx personal best to 5.38 seconds, which was 50.5 percent faster than his prior mark of 10.87 seconds, while also recording his first ever attempt at Clock in 26.75 seconds and Megaminx in 3:02.86. Mrigaank Saini achieved a 4x4x4 Cube personal best of 1:08.80, improving by 38.9 percent over an earlier 1:52.69 benchmark, alongside maiden official attempts in Clock at 21.52 seconds and Megaminx at 2:11.30. Shreyas [Shivam Dash](/p/shreyas-shivam-dash-2018dash01) tackled seven events, finishing 11th in 3x3x3 Blindfolded, logging a first blindfold attempt of 3:43.16, a first Megaminx solve of 2:18.71, and a 2x2x2 personal best of 1.54 seconds that improved his previous best by 33.9 percent.

Other dedicated solvers embraced heavy schedules and stepped into unfamiliar disciplines. Vemuru Vihaan Kaarthikeya entered six events at CubeX Summer Open Bangalore 2025, recording first official attempts in Clock at 17.11 seconds, 4x4x4 Cube at 1:38.80, and 3x3x3 One-Handed at 41.17 seconds. Reyansh Kasula entered five events, claiming a 10th-place finish in the 2x2x2 Cube while posting first-ever marks in 2x2x2 Cube at 2.95 seconds, 4x4x4 Cube at 1:21.04, and Pyraminx at 14.21 seconds. Ronel Abhijith took on six events, achieving a best finish of 35th in Megaminx while logging first official attempts in Megaminx at 4:42.22, 3x3x3 One-Handed at 1:08.85, and Pyraminx at 12.74 seconds.

Sunday afternoon brought specialised hardware and alternative disciplines to the stage. Clock featured forty entrants and was won by Muhammad Shayan with an average of 7.12 seconds and a single of 6.42 seconds, narrowly defeating Krishanth Thangarathan's 7.27 seconds and Nishad Khade's 7.46 seconds. In 3x3x3 Blindfolded, where competitors must memorise the cube before donning blindfolds, Vivek Prasad Mada secured the title with a winning single solve of 49.88 seconds, besting Jae Park of the United States at 1:06.82 and Reuben John Kumar at 1:09.94.

The weekend concluded with the classic Rubik's Cube main event featuring one hundred starters over three stages. The final 3x3 results crowned Arush Singh as the champion with an average of 8.10 seconds and a best single of 7.62 seconds. Akhil Vikram took second place with an 8.17-second average, while Mohith B earned third place at 8.39 seconds. Across both days of speed cubing, host nation India collected twenty-one podium finishes, Canada secured two, and the United States claimed one to close out an action-packed 2025 edition.

विशेषज्ञ स्पर्धाओं में भी असाधारण प्रदर्शन देखने को मिला। 3x3x3 Blindfolded स्पर्धा में विवेक और एकाग्रता की कड़ी परीक्षा के बीच Vivek Prasad Mada ने 49.88 सेकंड के शानदार सिंगल के साथ पहला स्थान हासिल किया। अमेरिका के Jae Park 1:06.82 के समय के साथ दूसरे और Reuben John Kumar 1:09.94 के समय के साथ तीसरे स्थान पर रहे। बिना देखे क्यूब हल करने की इस चुनौती में 27 प्रतियोगियों ने अपनी प्रतिभा का प्रदर्शन किया।
