Arthur Garcin Leads Blindfolded Solvers at Charente Open 2024English

Eighteen point twelve seconds was all the time Arthur Garcin required to inspect, memorise, and solve the classic puzzle without looking. The 3x3x3 Blindfolded event at Salle Omnisport demanded absolute silence and flawless mental execution, testing solvers on their ability to commit a scrambled state to memory before pulling on the blindfold. Over two tense rounds, 25 entrants took on the challenge. Garcin secured top honours for France with his 18.12 single, while Jonathan Dammann followed in second place with a 25.36 mark and Quentin Rivault claimed third with 33.12.

The sightless discipline set a focused tone across the entire weekend in Sireuil, France, where Charente Open 2024 ran from March 16 to March 17. The cubing competition gathered 76 competitors to tackle nine distinct events across 18 rounds of play. Beyond the memory feats, the venue hosted intense speedcubing clashes across standard, multi-layered, and mechanical twisty puzzles, showcasing a broad spectrum of technical ability.
