Ianis Costin Chele Sweeps Three Titles at Bucharest Cubing November 2025English

Inside Colegiul Tehnologic Viaceslav Harnaj, tables were lined with precision timers and solve mats as competitors gathered for an intense single-day meeting. The venue in Bucuresti, Romania set the stage for a tight schedule packed with complex puzzles, large cubes, and memory challenges. On November 15, 2025, speedcubing enthusiasts took their seats across eight rounds of head-to-head action, with every turn watched closely by judges.

The story of Bucharest Cubing November 2025 belonged firmly to Ianis Costin Chele, who delivered a commanding masterclass across multiple disciplines. Competing among a focused field of 14 participants, Chele set the pace early and never let go, taking three tournament titles on the day. His dominant form in both mechanical precision and rapid pattern recognition left a distinct mark on the final scoreboards across several major categories.

Chele launched his triple-gold campaign with an exceptional showing in the 5x5x5 Cube, which featured two full rounds of competition. After navigating the qualification round, he posted a decisive 53.08 winning average in the final alongside a best single of 47.82. Radu Andrei Andrieș secured the runner-up spot with an average of 56.80, while Mihnea Andrei Panţu took third place in 1:00.70 to complete an all-Romanian podium in the category.

Stepping up to the even larger hardware, Chele continued his control in the single-round 6x6x6 Cube event. He logged the fastest single solve at 1:46.92 and locked down the gold medal with a winning average of 1:51.08. Andrieș again proved to be his closest challenger, capturing second place with a mark of 1:56.34, while Panţu collected another bronze podium finish with a 1:56.86 result.

The only disruption to Chele's sweep of the big puzzles came in the 7x7x7 Cube final, where Mihnea Andrei Panţu broke through with a standout performance. Panţu claimed the championship by posting a winning average of 2:52.10 and a top single of 2:47.23, edging out Andrieș who took second place in 2:52.34. Chele rounded out the podium with a third-place finish in 3:03.75, ensuring he earned hardware in every big cube format contested.

Chele also proved unbeatable on shape-shifting puzzles, taking top honours in Square-1 across two competitive rounds. Handling the puzzle with speed and stability, he secured first place with a 12.03 average and delivered the fastest single of the contest at 8.95 seconds. Andrieș took second place with a 12.27 average, while Matei Florea completed the top three with an average of 13.70 in the final round.

Beyond the top steps of the podium, several competitors achieved meaningful milestones across their official schedules. Codrin Zaharia tackled five events and cut his personal bests substantially, dropping his 6x6x6 Cube mark by 19.4 percent to 4:11.01, reducing his 5x5x5 Cube time by 13.1 percent to 1:48.63, and trimming his 3x3x3 Blindfolded best by 9.2 percent to 4:50.74. Seunghyun Ku (구승현) improved his 7x7x7 Cube record by 7.7 percent to 3:32.90 for a fifth-place finish and shaved 6.6 percent off his 5x5x5 Cube mark at 1:22.99. Mental discipline took centre stage during the 3x3x3 Blindfolded rounds, where competitors memorised the classic Rubik's Cube layout before executing solutions entirely without sight. Serban Stelian captured the gold medal by registering a winning average of 37.59 alongside a lightning-fast single of 29.94. Alex Chisăliță-Ignat took second place with an average of 55.52, while Italy's Matteo Provasi locked in the third-place podium spot with a 2:03.65 average, providing the lone non-Romanian podium of the weekend.

The single-day gathering stood out as a premier cubing competition in the region, bringing technical mastery and deep concentration to the forefront across five official events. From high-level speed cubing on heavy puzzles to the delicate execution required for 3x3 results without sight, the WCA competition highlighted elite talent and developmental gains alike.
