Jeremy Bulambot Dominates One-Handed Solving at Bobcat Battle Fall 2023English

A blistering 8.92 single solve in the 3x3x3 One-Handed event set an electrifying tone at Bob Miller Middle School, highlighting how dexterity and ergonomics define modern single-handed solving. Solving a classic Rubik's Cube with just one hand demands precise fingertricks, deliberate table manipulation, and exceptional spatial planning. Jeremy Bulambot mastered every aspect of that discipline, capturing top honors with a commanding 14.89 average. Michael Larsen trailed closely behind with a 15.90 average for second place, while Adam Walker took third with 17.28 in the 38-competitor field.

The one-day WCA competition on October 21, 2023, brought 60 competitors to Henderson, Nevada, USA, for a fast-paced schedule featuring five distinct events spread across nine rounds. Speedcubing enthusiasts tackled everything from compact two-layered puzzles to larger four-layered challenges. Beyond individual event tactics, Bobcat Battle Fall 2023 showcased relentless focus under the tournament lights, proving that every turn counts in a high-stakes environment.

The traditional 3x3x3 Cube contest drew all 60 participants through three rigorous rounds. When the final round wrapped up, the 3x3 results confirmed Jeremy Bulambot at the top of the podium once more. Bulambot delivered a winning average of 7.72 alongside the tournament best single of 6.25. Michael Larsen secured the runner-up spot with an 8.00 average, and Adam Walker rounded out the top three by recording a 9.49 average in the final round.

Bulambot carried his momentum into the 4x4x4 Cube, demonstrating seamless transition between standard speed cubing and big cube execution. Navigating inner slice alignment and edge pairing across 37 competitors, Bulambot claimed victory with an average of 30.87 and a best single of 29.53. Larsen earned another silver medal with a 33.30 average, while Walker secured third place with 42.51, giving all three podium finishers an identical distribution across multiple disciplines.

The shorter events introduced intense drama and rapid turns. In the 2x2x2 Cube, Elijah Poma surged to victory across two rounds among 51 entrants, posting a winning average of 2.52 and a 2.02 single. Larsen pushed hard to finish second with a 2.67 average, while Bulambot claimed third at 3.00. The Skewb event presented its own mechanical challenges, where Michael Larsen emerged victorious with a 5.66 average and a 3.48 single, leading Kalel Amaury Romsa with 6.41 and Bulambot with 7.15 across 32 competitors.

Away from the top steps of the podium, the heartbeat of this cubing competition was found in substantial personal breakthroughs and fearless debuts. Issac Goldberg entered five events and recorded a massive 53.3 percent improvement in the 4x4x4 Cube with a 58.15 personal best, alongside a 27.3 percent drop to 5.90 on Skewb. Pierson Sablan chopped 49.1 percent off their 3x3x3 One-Handed mark to reach 26.02, also logging a first attempt in 4x4x4 Cube at 56.02 and taking 5th in the main event. Ayden A. Luistro improved their 4x4x4 Cube mark by 33.6 percent to 1:00.17, while Kyle Price cut their 3x3x3 One-Handed time by 28.2 percent down to 1:07.39.

First-time event entries provided some of the most inspiring moments of the gathering. Drew Hill lowered their 3x3x3 Cube standard by 18.2 percent to 13.14 while setting a first official 4x4x4 Cube result of 1:25.39. Alberto Torres placed 4th in Skewb after an initial attempt of 5.19 and dropped their 4x4x4 Cube time by 22.2 percent to 51.01. John M. Fenic took on five events, registering first-time efforts in 3x3x3 One-Handed at 1:08.93, Skewb at 11.96, and 4x4x4 Cube at 2:16.16. Ardyanna Fides Domingo Ducusin also tackled five events, making first attempts in 4x4x4 Cube at 1:27.96, 3x3x3 One-Handed at 35.41, and Skewb at 10.59.

The 2023 edition of Bobcat Battle Fall 2023 concluded as an emphatic demonstration of regional skill and community spirit in Henderson. Across all five disciplines, competitors pushed their limits, refined their algorithms, and celebrated hard-earned milestones. As the tournament equipment was packed away, participants left with fresh personal bests and valuable experience for the upcoming competitive calendar.
