High Stakes and Tight Margins Define BITS Pilani CubeStorm 2025English

Ten distinct events and twenty-two rounds tested nerve and precision as BITS Pilani CubeStorm 2025 unfolded in Pilani, Rajasthan, India. Over the November 15 to November 16 weekend, nineteen competitors gathered at Birla Institute of Technology And Science - Pilani. Formats that rely on a mean-of-3 format leave zero room for error, where a single slip turns a podium push into a missed opportunity. Across every discipline, the pressure was immediate, forcing contenders to deliver consistent precision across every turn of the puzzle.

In the classic Rubik's Cube division, three intense rounds narrowed the field before Kunal Oak claimed victory in the final. Oak delivered an 8.35 average, backed by a best single of 7.61, to secure the top step on the podium. Aryan Chhabra followed in second place with an 8.60 average, while Arghy Shravast took third with a 9.99 mark. These decisive 3x3 results anchored a crowded schedule of speedcubing action, setting a high standard for the other rotating categories.

The 3x3x3 Blindfolded contest illustrated the brutal nature of memory-based events where a single miscalculation results in a DNF. Saiyam Jain handled the single-round format best, logging a winning single of 59.71 to capture the gold. Sidhan Keswani took second place in an extraordinarily close finish at 1:00.15, separated by mere fractions of a second. Adhrit Verma rounded out the podium in third with a time of 2:37.95, completing a demanding test of total recall.

Aryan Chhabra enjoyed a remarkably productive run across multiple categories at BITS Pilani CubeStorm 2025. In 3x3x3 One-Handed, Chhabra secured first place with an average of 13.68, finishing ahead of Ojas Nimaje at 14.90 and Shrey Relan at 15.27. Chhabra also prevailed in a razor-thin 4x4x4 Cube final, recording a 30.51 average to edge out Kunal Oak by one hundredth of a second at 30.52, while Arghy Shravast placed third at 34.31.

Big cube mastery shifted back toward Kunal Oak in the 5x5x5 Cube, where he captured first place with an average of 50.43 and a top single of 47.43. Aryan Chhabra secured second place with 58.27, and Aniket Ahuja claimed third in 1:09.40. Ahuja had previously found gold in the 2x2x2 Cube final, averaging 2.17 to beat Ojas Nimaje with 2.85 and Chhabra with 2.96, showcasing blistering turn speed throughout the quick rounds.

Beyond the title fights, several under-the-radar competitors delivered career-best breakthroughs away from the podium spotlight. Aryan Bhardwaj registered a massive leap in the 4x4x4 Cube, setting a personal best of 44.36 that was 56.6 percent faster than his prior best of 1:42.20, alongside a 5x5x5 Cube best of 1:09.92 and a 24.53 in one-handed. Shourya Sinha took on all ten events, cutting his Megaminx mark by 36.8 percent down to 2:26.71, trimming his 5x5x5 Cube best to 2:00.13, and logging a first attempt in Clock at 23.12.

Aniket Kumar also tackled a complete ten-event slate at this WCA competition, securing fifth in 3x3x3 Blindfolded with a first-ever attempt of 7:15.31 while improving his Megaminx personal best to 2:59.95 and his 5x5x5 Cube best to 1:49.42. Aarush Sharan delivered a versatile weekend across five events, recording his first official attempts in 2x2x2 Cube at 4.10, 3x3x3 One-Handed at 38.64, and 4x4x4 Cube at 38.66, along with a weekend-best sixth-place finish in the 5x5x5 Cube event.

From rapid one-handed solves to the mental endurance of blindfolded routines, every second reflected deep preparation.
