The BITS Pilani Cube Open 2025 brought twelve full rounds across six distinct disciplines to Pilani, Rajasthan, India, creating an intense proving ground for seasoned hands and rising talents alike. Throughout the day, India swept all 18 podium positions available, showing consistency and depth across the schedule.

The premier 3x3x3 Cube event drew all 34 competitors and concluded with Aryan Chhabra executing a masterclass in control. Chhabra claimed victory with an exceptional winning average of 7.04 seconds, underpinned by the fastest single of the category at 6.00 seconds. Kunal Oak applied relentless pressure through both rounds, ultimately taking second place with an average of 7.56 seconds. Samrath Singh secured third position with an average of 9.43 seconds, capping off a high-calibre set of 3x3 results in the final round of the classic Rubik's Cube.

Chhabra added to his tally in the 2x2x2 Cube final, finishing as runner-up with an average of 2.52 seconds behind a dominant Divij Yadav. Yadav delivered a scorching 1.59-second winning average, having set the tone earlier with a single solve of 1.29 seconds among a field of 24 contenders. Ojas Nimaje took third on the podium with an average of 2.77 seconds. The one-handed event tested 23 competitors over two rounds, with Fouzan Zayn rising to the top of the standings. Zayn secured the victory with a 12.43-second average and a best single of 11.69 seconds. Shubham Dubey earned the second-place spot with an average of 13.30 seconds, while Kunal Oak claimed third place averaging 14.27 seconds. Zayn also demonstrated quick turning in 2x2x2 Cube earlier in the schedule, recording an average of 4.12 seconds during the opening round of the WCA competition.

The short-format puzzles brought thrilling drama to the BITS Pilani Cube Open 2025 as Veenayak Bhola navigated 18 solvers to claim the Pyraminx title. Bhola secured first place with an average of 3.72 seconds, complemented by a single of 2.65 seconds. Divij Yadav took second with an average of 4.36 seconds, followed by Nihit Dhayal in third at 4.72 seconds. In Skewb, Pratik Khanna posted a blistering 0.76 single on his way to an overall winning average of 3.28 seconds, edging out Yadav who averaged 3.41 seconds, with Bhola taking third at 4.88 seconds.

Away from the top steps, several competitors logged monumental personal milestones across the schedule. Dhruv Rahul Pathak took on six events, tackling his first ever attempt at Skewb with an 11.61, his first ever attempt at 3x3x3 One-Handed with a 36.38, and cutting his Pyraminx personal best to 3.09 seconds, which was 77.5 percent faster than his prior 13.71 mark. Abhinav Obulareddy entered three events and reached fifth place in 2x2x2 Cube behind a personal best of 1.69 seconds, improving by 58.9 percent over his old 4.11 mark. Aryan Bhardwaj contested five events, earning sixth place in 5x5x5 Cube while logging his first ever attempt at Pyraminx in 9.13 and his first 5x5x5 Cube solve at 1:14.72. Vidur Kathju completed four events and achieved a 12th-place best finish in Pyraminx, lowering his one-handed personal best to 33.52 by 32.2 percent, his Pyraminx best to 6.56 by 26.9 percent, and his 3x3x3 mark to 14.28 by 13 percent.

That drive continued through the rest of the pack in this energetic speed cubing showcase. Aniket Kumar entered six disciplines, finishing 11th in Skewb while improving his 2x2x2 Cube personal best to 3.68 by 22.7 percent, his one-handed best to 36.67 by 20.3 percent, and his 3x3x3 mark to 16.60 by 16.5 percent. Aprameya Panda took on four events, securing a weekend-best fourth place in Pyraminx alongside a 2x2x2 personal best of 3.50, an 18.2 percent Pyraminx improvement to 3.59, and a 3x3x3 best of 15.25. Shourya Sinha logged six events, placed sixth in Pyraminx, completed his first ever attempt at 5x5x5 Cube in 2:27.75, lowered his Pyraminx mark to 5.27, and recorded an 11.53 personal best on the 3x3x3 Cube. Abhinav Kamath also took on six events, finishing 10th in Pyraminx with a personal best of 7.70 seconds and notching a 10.39 personal best in the 3x3x3 Cube.

The action at the BITS Pilani Cube Open 2025 highlighted a well-rounded cubing competition where established names reaffirmed their caliber and the broader field pushed their individual limits.
