Big N Blind Bangalore June 2024 Brings Big Cubes and Blind Solves to Janma Wellness ClubEnglish

Twenty-one competitors gathered across two full days of high-focus action at Janma Wellness Club as Big N Blind Bangalore June 2024 delivered an intense schedule of complex events. Hosted in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India on June 8 and June 9, 2024, the venue offered a dedicated environment tailored specifically to large puzzles and blindfolded disciplines. The weekend program packed 15 rounds across 10 distinct events into the schedule, giving solvers ample opportunity to test their preparation on the competition floor.

The venue atmosphere was shaped heavily by the specialized nature of the weekend, where quiet concentration for memory disciplines alternated with rapid turning in the larger categories. Darshan Bhavanasi proved to be the most prolific competitor of the gathering, claiming first-place finishes in four separate events. Bhavanasi secured the 3x3x3 Fewest Moves title with a 33.33 average, topped Megaminx with a 53.15 average, took the 6x6x6 Cube in 2:21.18, and won the 7x7x7 Cube with an average of 3:37.53.

Mihir Narayan delivered an exceptional series of performances across the mid-range cubes and one-handed solving. In the 4x4x4 Cube, Narayan earned victory with a decisive 27.84 average, ahead of Pranav Kulkarni from the USA who took second at 31.09, and Darshan Bhavanasi in third at 38.20. Narayan also led the 5x5x5 Cube final with a 53.98 average, again finishing ahead of Kulkarni who posted a 1:10.13 mark. In 3x3x3 One-Handed, Narayan claimed another first place with a 13.78 average, leading Kulkarni at 16.16 and Mohith B at 16.19.

Blindfolded solving formed the core identity of the cubing competition, requiring absolute silence throughout the hall during attempts. In the two-round 3x3x3 Blindfolded event, Sukesh Kumar secured first place with a winning single time of 53.91 seconds. Darshan Bhavanasi took second place on the podium with a single solve of 1:54.07, while Shresht Prabhu earned third place with a best time of 2:27.51. Across the rounds, numerous competitors tackled the challenge of memorizing and executing their solutions without visual feedback.

Vivek Prasad Mada commanded the long-form memory categories, earning top honors in both multi-cube and large-cube blindfolded events. In the 3x3x3 Multi-Blind competition, Mada resolved 11 out of 16 cubes within a time limit of 56:24. Bhavanasi finished as runner-up with a flawless 4 out of 4 cubes in 30:30, followed by Daniel M. James who delivered 4 out of 5 cubes in 37:36. Mada also captured first place in 5x5x5 Blindfolded, recording a winning single solve of 19:20.00.

Away from the top steps of the podium, several participants made substantial strides across the weekend schedule. Rugved Pawar tackled seven events, earning a seventh-place finish in 6x6x6 Cube during a first career attempt that yielded a time of 4:29.33. Pawar also improved previous marks substantially, shaving 9 percent off a 3x3x3 One-Handed personal best to hit 34.12 seconds and dropping a 4x4x4 Cube best by 6.6 percent down to 51.24 seconds. Param Bhavin Shah reached fourth place in 3x3x3 Blindfolded with a first attempt time of 3:19.15, completed a first attempt at 4x4x4 Cube in 1:35.54, and improved a 3x3x3 One-Handed mark by 3.5 percent to 29.68.

Pranav Sandeep stepped up to four events, recording three new milestone attempts including a 21.92 in 3x3x3 One-Handed for a weekend-best ninth-place result, a 3:12.71 in 3x3x3 Blindfolded, and a 2:08.92 in Megaminx. In the extended memory events, Siddharth R. Kannan contested four categories and took seventh place in 3x3x3 Multi-Blind. Meenakshi D. Nair entered three categories across the weekend, matching that seventh-place placement in 3x3x3 Multi-Blind.

Throughout the schedule, the versatility of standard and specialized puzzles was on full display. The traditional Rubik's Cube mechanics extended into complex formats, from Fewest Moves strategy where participants analyze sequences individually to the physical endurance required for 7x7x7 Cube solving. Enthusiasts tracking standard 3x3 results found plenty to appreciate in the specialized single-handed and blind variants that highlighted the technical mastery of the field.

The tournament highlighted the depth of the local speedcubing community alongside strong international representation, with competitors from India earning 23 podium places and entrants representing the USA securing 6 podium positions. Across two demanding days, Big N Blind Bangalore June 2024 demonstrated how specialized venues like Janma Wellness Club provide the ideal backdrop for focused speed cubing disciplines, concluding another successful WCA competition in the southern regional circuit.

Big N Blind Bangalore June 2024:
