Blindfolded Mastery and Big Cube Prowess Define Big N Blind Bangalore April 2024English

Stepping up to solve a puzzle sight unseen demands absolute focus and intense memory work, and Greehith Annabathina delivered precisely that at Janma Wellness Club. Navigating the demanding mental terrain of the 5x5x5 Blindfolded discipline, Annabathina registered a winning single of 12:45.00 to claim a standout victory. The performance set the tone for an intense weekend of puzzle solving in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, where 25 competitors gathered from April 13 to April 14, 2024. Across two packed days, the gathering proved how testing memory and spatial perception can push the boundaries of standard speedcubing.

The blindfolded action extended beyond the massive puzzles to the classic 3x3x3 format, where Annabathina struck gold once again. In 3x3x3 Blindfolded, Annabathina took first place on the podium with a decisive winning single of 56.12 seconds, finishing ahead of Vivek Prasad Mada with a 1:06.32 single and Aryan Kusre with 1:44.25. The blindfolded category requires flawless memorisation of piece locations before the mask descends, and navigating the rounds without visual cues left little margin for error. Spectators following 3x3 results at this cubing competition saw competitors pushing their recall under severe competitive pressure.

Aryan Kusre staged a masterclass in endurance during the 3x3x3 Multi-Blind event, securing the top spot with a result of 9 out of 10 cubes resolved within a 57:00 time limit. Kusre led a contested field where Abhiram Narasimha took second place with 5 of 6 cubes in 45:56, and Annabathina earned third place by solving 8 of 12 cubes in 48:36. Managing a sequence of distinct Rubik's Cube layouts simultaneously represents one of the steepest challenges in modern speed cubing, and Kusre handled the complex cognitive task with exceptional precision at Big N Blind Bangalore April 2024.

Beyond the blindfolded challenges, Mikul Chanakya put together a dominant run across the large puzzle categories. Chanakya swept four separate events, asserting control over the standard layered puzzles with remarkable consistency. In the 4x4x4 Cube, Chanakya logged a winning average of 38.40 seconds, then followed it with a 1:01.02 average victory in the 5x5x5 Cube. Moving to the even larger hardware, Chanakya secured first place in the 6x6x6 Cube with a mark of 1:50.31 and finished the sweep by taking the 7x7x7 Cube title with a 2:43.65 winning average.

Single-handed dexterity and mathematical strategy also had their moments at the gathering. Mohith B displayed sharp execution in 3x3x3 One-Handed, winning the two-round contest with an average of 17.20 seconds, narrowly besting Kusre's 17.83 and Chanakya's 18.80. Mohith B added another victory in Megaminx with a 59.96 winning average. Meanwhile, 3x3x3 Fewest Moves tested the analytical limits of competitors over three separate hour-long attempts, with Lakshmi Sai Srivatsa emerging victorious on a 41.00 move average, edging out Mada's 41.67 average for the gold medal at Big N Blind Bangalore April 2024.

Away from the title clashes, several competitors produced monumental personal milestones across the weekend schedule. Bramha Yaksh Jain delivered a massive breakthrough in 3x3x3 One-Handed, recording a personal best of 32.03 seconds to cut his previous mark of 1:06.69 by 52 percent, while also posting an improvement to 1:22.33 in 4x4x4 Cube and taking on his first ever attempt at Megaminx with a 2:03.90 single.
