Battle for Belgrade II 2025

Inside the storied halls of the Mathematical Grammar School, the competitive rhythm took hold across two packed days of solving. Desks usually reserved for academic equations transformed into tournament stations, complete with timing mats, display timers, and judges closely watching each move. Competitors moved between warm-up tables and the official competition floor, creating a focused setting for the cubing competition in Belgrade, Serbia. With 64 participants taking part, the venue provided an ideal stage for speedcubing across nine events and twenty full rounds of action on October 18 and 19, 2025.

The 2025 schedule opened the floor to a wide range of puzzles, testing dexterity and foresight in equal measure. Battle for Belgrade II 2025 featured 60 competitors in the classic 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube, where multiple rounds narrowed the field down to the sharpest solvers. Alexey Tsvetkov delivered an exceptional campaign in the flagship event, securing victory with a winning average of 6.57 seconds alongside the round single of 5.53 seconds. The high caliber of the 3x3 results set a demanding standard for the rest of the weekend program.

Tsvetkov continued his dominant form across several other puzzles on the schedule. In the 2x2x2 Cube, he captured top honours with an average of 1.39 seconds and a tournament-best single of 1.01 seconds, finishing ahead of Oskar Vidiček who placed second with a 2.57 average and Viktor Nedeljković in third at 2.95. Tsvetkov also claimed the 4x4x4 Cube title with a 28.48 average, outpacing Vidiček at 31.84 and Aleksa Radovanović at 36.72, and topped Skewb with a 3.10 mark over Vidiček at 4.22 and Dušan Mašović at 4.72.

The one-handed contest brought further success for Tsvetkov, who completed a five-win individual haul at Battle for Belgrade II 2025. He took first place in 3x3x3 One-Handed with an average of 9.06 seconds, featuring a best single solve of 7.72 seconds. Matej Marčok followed in second place with an 11.12 average, while Oskar Vidiček rounded out the podium with a 16.50 result. Meanwhile, the Pyraminx title went to Aleksandar Dimitrov, who averaged 1.99 seconds to edge out Tsvetkov at 2.16 and Đorđe Timotijević at 4.78.

While the shorter puzzles featured tight turnarounds, the big cubes belonged entirely to Oskar Vidiček. The Slovenian competitor swept the remaining three events at this WCA competition, demonstrating mastery on the higher-order mechanisms. Vidiček captured the 5x5x5 Cube title with an average of 55.45 seconds and a single of 42.03, besting Aleksa Radovanović at 1:01.56 and Aleksa Dimitrijević at 1:25.46. Vidiček then led the 6x6x6 Cube with a 1:45.02 average ahead of Radovanović at 2:01.49 and Dimitrijević at 2:45.62, and finished by winning the 7x7x7 Cube with a 2:28.45 mark ahead of Radovanović at 3:21.01 and Kristo Sotirov at 3:59.64.

Beyond the championship trophies, Battle for Belgrade II 2025 saw remarkable individual milestones away from the spotlight. Lazar Bojanić tackled six events and produced massive gains, dropping his 5x5x5 Cube personal best by 51.3 percent down to 1:27.12, cutting his 4x4x4 Cube mark by 45 percent to 47.91, and recording an 18.07 single in 3x3x3 One-Handed for a 32 percent improvement on his way to a sixth-place finish. Ognjen Ristić took on five events, registering his first ever attempt at 3x3x3 One-Handed with a 59.96 single, while slicing his 2x2x2 Cube personal best by 61.5 percent to 3.71 seconds and his 3x3x3 Cube best by 42.9 percent to 16.47 seconds. Maksim Marinkovic took on seven events, logging his first ever 5x5x5 Cube attempt at 3:07.82 alongside a 25.8 percent improvement in 4x4x4 Cube with 1:10.66 and a 17.5 percent cut in Pyraminx to 7.13. Filip Djordjevski made his debut attempts in both 3x3x3 One-Handed at 51.46 and 4x4x4 Cube at 1:06.06, while dropping his 2x2x2 Cube mark by 28.9 percent to 3.03 seconds.

The progress continued across the roster as solvers embraced new challenges and recorded standout personal milestones. Katarina Krasnići entered five events, recording her first ever Skewb attempt with a time of 16.71 seconds, while improving her 2x2x2 Cube best by 30.5 percent to 3.41 seconds and trimming 26 percent from her 4x4x4 Cube mark with 1:04.38, earning a sixth-place finish in Pyraminx. Dario Gulevski posted his first official Pyraminx attempt at 14.06 seconds, alongside a 38.8 percent cut to 5.70 in 2x2x2 Cube and a 27.5 percent improvement in 3x3x3 Cube to 21.06. Mario Gulevski also notched his first Pyraminx solve at 9.57 seconds, improving his 2x2x2 Cube personal best by 34.5 percent to 3.88 and his 3x3x3 Cube single by 32.9 percent to 24.33. Miloš Gruborović completed his first ever attempts in both 4x4x4 Cube at 52.42 and 2x2x2 Cube at 4.23, while lowering his 3x3x3 Cube personal best by 9 percent to 12.04 on his way to tenth place in 3x3x3 One-Handed.

Across the two days of competition, host country Serbia collected eleven total podium places, flanked by eight for Slovenia, six for Russia, and two for Bulgaria. The broad spread of talent and dedicated preparation underscored the steady rise of speed cubing in the region. When the final puzzles were scrambled and solved at Battle for Belgrade II 2025, the tournament delivered high standards at the top of the table alongside meaningful progress for emerging competitors across every bracket.

Ukupno 64 takmičara okupilo se u glavnom gradu tokom vikenda 18. i 19. oktobra kako bi odmerilo snage na turniru Battle for Belgrade II 2025. Dvodnevno nadmetanje, održano u prostoru ustanove Mathematical Grammar School u gradu Belgrade, Serbia, donelo je 20 rundi u 9 disciplina. Ljubitelji discipline speedcubing imali su priliku da prate bogat program u kom su se ređala vrhunska vremena od prve jutarnje faze do završnih borbi za postolja.

Subotnji program otvorio je takmičenje nadmetanjima u većim kockama i uvodnim kvalifikacijama gde je Oskar Vidiček iz Slovenije odmah preuzeo kontrolu nad složenijim formatima. U disciplini 7x7x7 Cube slavio je sa prosekom 2:28.45 i najboljim pojedinačnim slaganjem od 2:26.98, ispred predstavnika Srbije Alekse Radovanovića koji je zabeležio 3:21.01 i trećeplasiranog Krista Sotirova iz Bugarske sa 3:59.64. Bio je to uvod u dominaciju slovenačkog takmičara na velikim slagalicama prvog dana.

Nastavak subote doneo je nova slavlja za Vidičeka na kockama 5x5x5 i 6x6x6. U disciplini 6x6x6 Cube Vidiček je osigurao zlato sa prosekom 1:45.02, dok je Aleksa Radovanović bio drugi sa 2:01.49, a Aleksa Dimitrijević treći sa 2:45.62. Format 5x5x5 Cube ponovio je sličan raspored na vrhu, jer je Vidiček pobedio uz prosek 55.45 i najbolji singl od 42.03, ponovo ispred Radovanovića sa 1:01.56 i Dimitrijevića sa 1:25.46.

Nedeljni raspored doneo je prelazak na brže discipline gde je Alexey Tsvetkov demonstrirao izuzetnu brzinu u nekoliko kategorija. Tsvetkov je osvojio 3x3x3 One-Handed sa prosekom 9.06 i najboljim singlom od 7.72, ostavivši iza sebe domaćeg predstavnika Mateja Marčoka sa 11.12 i Oskara Vidičeka sa 16.50. U disciplini 4x4x4 Cube Tsvetkov je ponovo trijumfovao kroz prosek 28.48, dok je Vidiček završio kao drugi sa 31.84, a Radovanović treći sa 36.72.

Završni blok nedelje pripao je najdinamičnijim disciplinama. Aleksandar Dimitrov iz Bugarske bio je najbrži na slagalici Pyraminx sa pobedničkim prosekom 1.99, ispred Tsvetkova sa 2.16 i Đorđa Timotijevića sa 4.78. Tsvetkov je potom zaključio turnir Battle for Belgrade II 2025 pobedama u Skewb formatu sa prosekom 3.10 ispred Vidičeka i Dušana Mašovića, u 2x2x2 Cube sa 1.39 ispred Vidičeka i Viktora Nedeljkovića, kao i u glavnoj 3x3x3 Cube kategoriji gde je uzeo zlato sa prosekom 6.57 među 60 takmičara.

Iza borbe za medalje, vikend su obeležili značajni lični uspesi i napreci takmičara koji grade svoje iskustvo. Pavle Kovačević je postavio lični rekord u 2x2x2 Cube sa 4.73 što je 50 procenata brže od ranijih 9.46, dok je na slagalici Skewb popravio vreme za 44 procenta na 9.77 i u 3x3x3 Cube na 11.86. Lav Novakovic je zabeležio svoj prvi pokušaj u 3x3x3 One-Handed sa 49.71, uz lične rekorde u 3x3x3 Cube od 15.50 i Pyraminx od 5.40 gde je zauzeo deseto mesto. Martin Alan Marinković se prvi put oprobao u 5x5x5 Cube sa vremenom 3:00.66, a István Benedek Varga je odradio svoj debi u 7x7x7 Cube sa 7:56.05 i zabeležio peto mesto.

Ovo zvanično WCA competition takmičenje bilo je i prva prilika za ulazak u statistiku nekolicini novih lica. Petar Marjanović je nastupio na svom prvom turniru kroz šest disciplina, upisavši prve rezultate u Skewb sa 18.03, Pyraminx sa 11.12 i 2x2x2 Cube sa 4.71. Luka Petrov je na svom debiju došao do 16. mesta u 2x2x2 Cube uz početni rezultat 3.51, uz prve nastupe u 4x4x4 Cube sa 1:30.89 i Skewb sa 12.61. Đorđe Đukić je zabeležio prve rezultate na 3x3x3 Cube sa 31.09, 2x2x2 Cube sa 5.37 i Skewb sa 14.59, dok je Mihailo Raković upisao 25. mesto u 3x3x3 Cube i prve nastupe u 4x4x4 Cube sa 1:37.36, Pyraminx sa 9.83 i 2x2x2 Cube sa 7.32.

Domaći takmičari su na kraju osvojili ukupno 11 postolja, Slovenija je sakupila 8, Rusija 6, a Bugarska 2. Uspešno organizovano cubing competition nadmetanje pod nazivom Battle for Belgrade II 2025 pokazalo je kontinuitet i snagu regionalne scene. Sa uspešno zaključenim finalima u zgradi Matematičke gimnazije, takmičari iz cele regije završili su 2025 nastupe u Beogradu sa novim ličnim merilima za predstojeće sportske izazove.
