Bangkok Cube Day Rainy 2024

The competition floor at Paradise Park hummed with constant activity throughout the July 27 to July 28 weekend as solve timers blinked across dozens of stations. Across 17 total rounds, the venue welcomed a dynamic range of disciplines, shifting rapidly from compact two-layer cubes to complex big cubes, triangular puzzles, and corner-turning challenges. A field of 117 competitors assembled in Bangkok, Thailand for the mid-year gathering, bringing a vast spread of mechanical variety to the tables over two packed days of head-to-head speedcubing action in 2024.

The classic Rubik's Cube drew the largest lineup of the weekend, featuring 111 entrants across three rounds of intense solving. Parist Pariyakanok secured top honors in the 3x3x3 Cube final, logging an outstanding winning average of 7.16 seconds to go with a best single of 6.01 seconds. Asia Konvittayayotin earned the second step on the podium with a 7.80 average, while Natthaphat Mahtani completed the top three with an average of 8.47. The final 3x3 results capped a high-caliber contest that tested rapid lookahead and execution under tournament conditions.

Parist Pariyakanok expanded his dominance well beyond the primary event, picking up two additional titles to claim a triple crown across varied formats. In the 3x3x3 One-Handed event, which brought 72 contenders through two rounds, Parist took the victory with a 9.90 average and a single of 9.28 seconds, outpacing Natthaphat Mahtani at 12.57 and Phuwish Sripattrapan at 13.45. Shorter solves and memory-intensive formats added distinct rhythms to the weekend program. Phuwish Sripattrapan claimed the 2x2x2 Cube title with a blazing 1.93 average and a single of 1.49, finishing ahead of Parist Pariyakanok at 2.34 and Pongkhun Thongkum at 2.43. From high-speed turning on compact hardware to the measured discipline of larger mechanisms, this cubing competition showcased the depth of the regional scene across eight distinct events. Every category tested specific technical proficiencies, whether solving with one hand, racing through pyramid layers, or decoding scrambled states under pressure. The spirited two-day WCA competition highlighted both seasoned title winners and emerging speed cubing talents across Bangkok, closing out an energetic weekend of competition at Paradise Park.
