Tito Salvador took on five events, finishing 14th in Clock, trying one-handed solving for the first time at 41.17, and cutting their 2x2x2 Cube record by 54.7 percent to 1.94. Matthew Cota tried Pyraminx and Clock for the first time, recording 19.77 and 24.15 respectively while bettering their 2x2x2 Cube mark to 10.07. David Huntington shaved 53.7 percent off their Clock personal best down to 14.22, Ryker Harrison made a Clock debut of 23.33 and improved their 2x2x2 Cube best by 50.5 percent to 4.67, and Rowe Jennings tackled six events, trying one-handed solving at 28.68 and securing a 2.00 in 2x2x2 Cube.

The technical variety of the WCA competition was on full display in the specialized puzzles, led by Wilson Hettinger in Clock. Facing 51 competitors in a single round, Hettinger registered a winning average of 5.61 and a single of 4.78 to secure the victory over Canyon Pettitt at 6.75 and Akoy Gregory at 8.10.
