Gabriel Santiago Velez Gonzalez delivered an outstanding performance in the final round of the 3x3x3 Cube, posting an average of 8.34 seconds alongside a best single of 7.44 to claim the top prize in the capital city. The single-day speedcubing showcase took place on September 15, 2024, at the Centro Comercial Avenida Chile in Bogotá, Colombia. A total of 77 competitors arrived to battle across 5 different events and 15 rigorous rounds, creating one of the most tightly packed elimination tracks on the regional calendar.

The sheer density of the roster ensured that every spot in a final was earned through intense consistency. In the premier 3x3x3 Cube event, 74 competitors took to the tables for the opening round, leaving zero margin for hesitation. Bernardo Torres of Venezuela mounted a relentless challenge, registering a fast single of 6.53 seconds and an average of 7.89 during the earlier stages, before taking second place on the podium with a 9.01 average in the final. Juan Sebastian Otalora Diaz secured third place with a 9.82 average, wrapping up the premier 3x3 results of the weekend.

Navigating three full stages of competition tested every finalist across the diverse puzzle selection. The official WCA competition demanded versatility and speed under time constraints. In the Pyraminx, Jacob Goossens Celis stood out with a winning average of 3.43 seconds and an event single of 2.42 from a field of 56 contenders. Cristhian Damián Fernández Pineda followed in second place with an average of 4.33, while Dennis Rosero took third at 5.02 seconds, demonstrating the remarkable depth in the pyramid discipline.

The mechanical precision of Clock brought 32 participants to the stations across three distinct rounds. Shanty Rodríguez prevailed in a tense final, taking first place with an average of 5.38 seconds and an individual solve of 4.05. Dereck Samuel Marin Suarez pushed hard to finish runner-up with an average of 5.79, while Shemuel Cuellar Ramirez secured third at 6.53 seconds. Rodríguez would soon return to the tables to contend in another demanding discipline during the afternoon.

That versatility carried into the Square-1, where David Felipe Gómez Prieto captured first place with an average of 16.37 seconds and a best single of 13.96 against 19 contenders. Shanty Rodríguez earned a second podium placement of the day by securing runner-up honours with a 16.81 average, while Dennis Rosero collected another bronze finish with a mark of 19.36. The tournament pushed participants through 15 rounds of high-pressure solving, giving both veterans and emerging competitors a stern test of resolve.
