Community Spirit and Stellar Solves Meet at Atatürk Cube Weekend 2023English
Thirty-five competitors gathered over three full days of action as Atatürk Cube Weekend 2023 brought a celebration of twisting puzzles to the Turkish capital. Running from May 19 to May 21, 2023, the event took over the TMMOB Teoman Öztürk Öğrenci Evi ve Sosyal Tesisi in Ankara, Turkey. Across 23 intense rounds spanning 11 official disciplines, the tournament balanced elite sporting showdowns with the warmth and camaraderie that define the speedcubing community.
The competition floor served as a shared meeting ground where competitors analyzed algorithms, compared puzzle setups, and shared solving methods between rounds. While classic three-layered solving always draws heavy attention, the broad schedule at this WCA competition encouraged solvers to branch into diverse challenges. Everything from single-handed execution to specialized shape modifications like Pyraminx and Megaminx gave participants plenty of opportunities to test their skills in an engaging cubing competition setting.
