Specialist Events Take Centre Stage at Arrigorriaga Side Events 2023 in BizkaiaEnglish

The tables inside the Arrigorriagako Gaztegunea were filled with an unusual variety of twisty puzzles on February 11, 2023. Unlike standard meets where the classic three-layered cube commands all attention, this dedicated cubing competition brought non-standard disciplines to the forefront. Fifteen competitors gathered in Arrigorriaga, Bizkaia, Spain, ready to tackle a dense schedule of nine rounds across six distinct formats. The environment highlighted the broad technical depth of the community, where traditional 3x3 results made way for big cubes, mechanical clock dials, and dodecahedrons.

Arrigorriaga Side Events 2023 offered a complete showcase of variety, spanning from the geometric turns of Square-1 to the immense visual complexity of the 7x7x7 Cube. With only six events on the roster, participants shifted rapidly from fast-turning mechanical dials to prolonged big-cube marathons. The unique setup of the WCA competition allowed enthusiasts who specialize away from standard Rubik's Cube categories to test their mastery across specialized hardware and complex algorithmic steps.

The big cube matchups delivered tight contests at the top of the standings.
