Inside the halls of the Anyang Arts Center in 경기도 안양시 (Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do), Korea, the steady clatter of rotating plastic and timer resets filled the competition space across February 8 and 9. Competitors gathered around solving stations to test their practice against the clock, surrounded by scorecards and inspection stopwatches. A total of 167 competitors took part across 17 rounds and seven events, transforming the venue into a bustling hub of competitive Rubik's Cube solving.

The 2025 gathering brought rapid progression to the forefront, with personal records dropping throughout the schedule across multiple categories. In the premier 3x3x3 Cube event, 146 competitors entered the qualifying stages, aiming for breakthrough individual marks. When the final 3x3 results were settled, Seung Hyuk Nahm captured first place with an average of 5.95 seconds. Seung Hyuk Nahm recorded the best single of the event at 5.38 seconds, leading Kyeongmin Choi who placed second with a 6.71 average, and DongSoo Park who took third in 6.99.

Beyond the podiums, the official scorecards documented an array of personal achievements that marked significant leaps in solving speed. In the 3x3x3 Cube, DongSoo Park registered a 6.30 single and a 6.93 average. Yeeun Park delivered a 9.27 single and a 10.78 average, while Seo Yeung Jin secured marks of 10.27 and 10.79. Kim Dong-Young posted a 10.47 single and an 11.14 average, and Jaehyun Jeong recorded a 10.76 single with a 10.98 average. Further improvements came from Jungyeon Cho with an 11.09 single and 12.11 average, Gaon Yoon with 11.45 and 14.37, EunChan Jung with 11.78 and 14.94, Seonwoo Na with 11.84 and 15.36, and Sangjin Na with a 26.45 single and 29.91 average.

That drive for advancement defined the weekend at Anyang Haseyo 2025, where athletes expanded their repertoires and shattered previous personal benchmarks. Joonhee Lee took on seven events during the tournament and delivered massive leaps forward, setting a 3x3x3 One-Handed personal best of 21.57 seconds, which was 66.8 percent faster than their previous best of 1:04.89. Joonhee Lee also dropped their Skewb personal best to 4.81 seconds, improving by 45.2 percent from 8.77, while logging a first ever attempt at 7x7x7 Cube with a time of 6:28.38. Juhwan Seol entered five events and recorded a Skewb personal best of 7.40 seconds, an improvement of 52.3 percent from 15.50, alongside a first attempt at 3x3x3 One-Handed of 26.29 and a first Clock result of 9.26.

The depth of progress across the roster continued through several other multi-event campaigns at this speedcubing fixture. Sungmin Lee entered five events, achieving a best finish of 7th place in Clock while posting first career attempts in Clock at 5.12 seconds, Skewb at 4.38 seconds, and 3x3x3 One-Handed at 24.46 seconds. SiWoo Choi also tackled five disciplines, recording first attempts in Clock at 9.42 seconds, Skewb at 13.53 seconds, and 3x3x3 One-Handed at 27.83 seconds. Yijun Kim contested all seven events, registering initial official marks of 3:37.76 in 6x6x6 Cube, 6:24.70 in 7x7x7 Cube, and 27.70 in 3x3x3 One-Handed. Gaon Yoon added to a five-event slate with debut marks of 8.31 seconds in Skewb, 10.85 in Clock, and 27.79 in 3x3x3 One-Handed.

Big cube specialists found plenty of traction on the tables over the two-day cubing competition. In the 4x4x4 Cube, Seung Hyuk Nahm claimed victory among 95 competitors with a 23.44 winning average and a best single of 20.20 seconds. DongSoo Park took second place with an average of 26.66, and Yoochan Hong rounded out the top three with 28.27. In the 6x6x6 Cube, Seung Hyuk Nahm collected a third tournament title with a winning average of 1:13.72 and a single of 1:11.65, followed by Kyeongmin Choi at 1:41.08 and Seungyong Han at 1:42.19.

The 7x7x7 Cube saw DongSoo Park secure the championship title from a field of 58 competitors, putting together a winning average of 1:50.38 and the top single of 1:43.89. Seung Hyuk Nahm placed second with an average of 1:51.29, while Seungyong Han secured third place with 2:16.25. The results demonstrated the exceptional precision and stamina required to control large layered puzzles over multiple qualifying rounds at Anyang Haseyo 2025.

In the specialized events, Yoochan Hong topped the 87-competitor field in 3x3x3 One-Handed, recording a winning average of 11.02 seconds and a single of 9.22. Seung Hyuk Nahm took second with an 11.42 average, and DongSoo Park finished third with 11.87. Over at the Clock tables, Lee Seong Vin won the two-round event with an average of 4.45 seconds and a single of 3.21, edging Noh HyunJin at 5.07 and Hyunseong Hwang at 5.35. In Skewb, Kyeongmin Choi won with an average of 2.71 seconds and a single of 2.09, ahead of Jihoon Ha and Dongheon Ryu, who both registered averages of 3.83.

With 21 podium places earned by competitors representing Korea, Anyang Haseyo 2025 highlighted both elite consistency and widespread individual growth. Every round gave participants the chance to test new solving techniques against the timer and establish fresh baselines. As the equipment was packed away at the Anyang Arts Center, the weekend stood as a showcase of personal advancement in speed cubing, setting a strong standard for the season ahead at every WCA competition.
