A field of 43 competitors came together for 10 rounds of high-pressure action across four distinct disciplines on July 29 and July 30. Hosted at the Casa de la cultura Anahuac, the competition put a bright spotlight on puzzle specialists who thrive outside the standard events. While the classic Rubik's Cube drew plenty of focus, the tournament schedule gave equal weight to alternate formats that demand totally different solving techniques, distinct finger movements, and rigorous mechanical discipline. Across two full days of speedcubing in Santiago, Chile, participants pushed every event to its absolute limit in 2023.

The triangular geometry of the Pyraminx delivered one of the weekend's sharpest battles across two competitive rounds. Gustavo Alonso Sandoval Loncón claimed the top step of the podium with a winning average of 2.98 seconds, backed up by a best single solve of 2.28 seconds. The race for podium positions remained exceptionally close throughout the final phase, with Michael Fonseca securing second place on a 3.35 average. José Antonio Gaete completed the all-Chile podium in third position by averaging 3.51 seconds, highlighting how precise edge-flipping and tip-turning decided the event.

Big-cube efficiency came to the forefront during the two rounds of the 4x4x4 Cube, where Claudio Matias Cancino Bruna executed a dominant series of solves. Cancino Bruna locked up first place with a 29.24 winning average, also posting the fastest single time of the tournament at 28.09 seconds. The remaining podium spots saw a spirited chase as Diego Núñez claimed second place with an average of 36.41 seconds, edging out Jose Basaes who earned third place with a 36.72 average. The grueling demands of edge pairing and parity handling tested every participant in the 21-person field.

The 2x2x2 Cube provided a frantic display of turning across three rounds, drawing a field of 31 participants. Gabriel Alonso Ibáñez Miranda earned first place with a winning average of 2.72 seconds, alongside a best single solve of 2.52 seconds. Jose Basaes pushed the pace right behind, securing second place with an average of 2.92 seconds after earlier producing a 1.61 single and a 2.85 average. Claudio Matias Cancino Bruna joined them on the podium in third place with a 3.50 average, closing out an event filled with lightning-fast execution.

Away from the top steps of the podium, several competitors delivered massive personal breakthroughs that defined the heart of the weekend. Alonso Bustos González entered four events and achieved a 13.88 in 3x3x3, cutting his previous mark by 59.5 percent from 34.30, while also recording his first ever attempt at 4x4x4 Cube with a 58.25 and a first ever attempt at 2x2x2 Cube of 4.40. Miguel Angel Segura Roman posted his first ever attempt at Pyraminx with a 13.72 and lowered his 3x3x3 mark by 31.7 percent to 16.78.
