Inside the halls of the Amrita School of Engineering at the Amritapuri Campus in Kollam, Kerala, India, the rhythmic clicking of plastic mechanisms filled the air from morning to evening across May 31 and June 1, 2025. Entrants gathered from across the region and beyond, hauling backpacks laden with puzzles of every dimension to the coastal district. For many of the 69 competitors in attendance, the journey involved traversing substantial distances across southern India, while international entrants made the trip from as far away as Singapore and the United States to test their skills at this high-energy cubing competition.

The two-day WCA competition brought together an ambitious schedule spanning 14 separate events and 21 rounds. Enthusiasts of modern speedcubing tackled everything from the classic Rubik's Cube to intricate multi-layered puzzles and blindfolded disciplines. The tournament atmosphere was marked by intense concentration as solvers matched their reflexes against the clock, delivering rapid turnarounds across all disciplines while friends and fellow solvers tracked every shift on the live standings.

The premier 3x3x3 Cube contest stood out as the centerpiece of the tournament, featuring a massive field of 62 contenders across three demanding rounds. When the 3x3 results were tallied at the conclusion of the final round, Muhammed Shehzad Khan emerged victorious for India with a standout winning average of 9.38 seconds, bolstered by a best single solve of 8.99 seconds. Muhammad Rayyan claimed the second step on the podium with a 9.77 average, while Sujai Shakthivel secured third place with a 10.64 average.

Beyond the main event, individual mastery across diverse hardware defined the top of the leaderboards. Across the specialized formats, Sai Mrudhun topped a 53-person roster in Pyraminx with a sharp 3.54 average, while Muhammad Shayan earned the Clock title with an average of 7.63 seconds.
