Ludwig Ivarsson Leads Field as Organizers Power ÅkersKuba 2026English

A blistering 6.22 single and a 7.19 final average from Ludwig Ivarsson in the 3x3x3 Cube set the standard on February 7, 2026, anchoring a memorable day of action in Åkersberga, Sweden. Behind the scenes at Folkets Hus Åkersberga, the event team, delegates, and dedicated table volunteers kept the entire program moving seamlessly across 14 rounds and 10 separate disciplines. Their tireless efforts provided a structured and welcoming stage for 29 competitors to showcase their skills at ÅkersKuba 2026, delivering an efficient day of speed cubing from early morning blindfolded runs to the late afternoon 3x3 results.

The smoothly coordinated schedule allowed several multi-event contenders to shine across varied formats throughout the weekend. Ludwig Ivarsson doubled his gold medal haul by securing the 3x3x3 One-Handed title with a winning 14.21 average and a 10.89 single, finishing ahead of Daniel Wallin who took second with 15.97. Wallin, however, made his presence felt elsewhere on the schedule, capturing the Pyraminx crown with a 3.79 average and conquering the 3x3x3 Blindfolded division with a winning single time of 19.47 seconds.

Emanuel Skålberg proved just as dominant in the hardware categories, claiming two major victories of his own. In the 2x2x2 Cube final, Skålberg locked down first place with a 2.63 average, edging out Erland Flodman who took second at 2.65, while Max Abramoff completed the podium in 2.89. Skålberg carried that precision into the 4x4x4 Cube, posting a winning average of 26.40 and the day's best single of 25.18, well clear of runner-up Daniel Wallin at 34.85 and Dante Tellechea Hultmark in third at 36.31.

Specialist puzzles brought fierce head-to-head showdowns that tested accuracy down to the hundredth of a second. The Clock contest proved to be one of the closest battles of ÅkersKuba 2026, as Jack Belloni Sahlin took the title with a 4.98 average to narrowly defeat Erland Flodman at 5.00, while Ludwig Ivarsson earned third in 6.11. In Skewb, Flodman claimed the top spot with a 2.96 average and a 1.94 single. Vincent Rylander mastered the Square-1 event, averaging 11.06 to capture gold after laying down a stunning 5.61 single.

Memory and composure under pressure defined the longest challenges of the cubing competition. In 3x3x3 Multi-Blind, Leo Johansson navigated seven attempted cubes to successfully register 6 points in 44 minutes and 1 second, securing first place. Jack Belloni Sahlin followed in second place by solving 6 of 7 cubes in 49 minutes and 22 seconds, marking another rigorous test managed flawlessly by the event judges and organizers.

Beyond the championship podiums, the event floor gave several competitors a supportive platform to achieve remarkable individual milestones. Elis Gustafsson made substantial leaps across two events, slashing his 3x3x3 personal best by 52.2 percent down to 19.96 and chopping his 2x2x2 best by 41.1 percent to 10.23. Lucas Engholm took on seven events and earned an 11th-place finish in his first official Square-1 attempt at 35.14, while cutting his 4x4x4 best by 21.2 percent to 1:52.32 and improving his 3x3x3 mark to 19.06.

The spirit of trying new disciplines and breaking personal barriers continued right through the ranks at this WCA competition. Sixten Ramefelt tackled eight different events, setting a Pyraminx personal best of 10.63 that was 19.7 percent faster than before, alongside debut attempts in Clock at 31.75 and 4x4x4 at 1:43.11. Loke Holmberg took on five events, achieving 17th in One-Handed while recording initial marks of 2:50.61 in 4x4x4 and 12.04 in Pyraminx. Helmer Königsson finished 17th in Skewb with an opening 7.51 effort and cut his classic Rubik's Cube time by 13 percent to 18.53. Felix Bergström Falk logged a Clock debut of 31.47 while lowering his 3x3x3 mark by 8.6 percent to 23.34 and his 2x2x2 to 4.68.

The collective success of ÅkersKuba 2026 stood as a testament to the community leaders and volunteers who managed the venue and kept the speedcubing community operating at its peak. Every smooth transition between rounds reflected careful preparation and dedication from the local staff. As the tables were packed away in Åkersberga, the focus for the organizers and competitors alike shifted naturally toward the next gathering on the competitive calendar.
